Summary:

The Sr. Applications Analyst is responsible for leading research, implementation, support, optimization, upgrades, projects, and enhancement of enterprise software applications. This includes on premise and cloud SaaS models. This position serves as a technical point-of-contact for software applications and assists subject matter experts with system issues, service requests, data-flow design, customizations, integration, and system improvement. This position is responsible for supporting ERP system and integrations, business and financial systems, as well as clinical and billing software that integrates with the EMR including but not limited to Financial, HR, Payroll, Supply Chain, Time and Attendance, Staff Scheduling, Document Imaging, Coding, and Billing Systems.

  • Experience Required:

  • 5 years of experience supporting financial software applications

  • Strong organizational skills to plan, organize, facilitate, and direct the activities of users, assign and monitor task/project work relevant to application systems

  • Strong analytical and technical skills to evaluate systems and system problems, formulate alternative solutions, and evaluate program and staff effectiveness

  • Strong critical thinking skills and attention to detail

  • Strong computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

  • Project management experience

  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision

  • Excellent technical writing and document creation skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and proven ability to train others effectively

  • Education Required: Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Human Resource Management, Business, Accounting, Finance, or other business or information technology related field is required. In lieu of a college degree, 8 years of relevant experience required.

  • Licensure/Certifications Required: None

  • Experience Preferred: Healthcare-specific IT experience, Supporting enterprise-scale software applications, Infor ERP build and management, Enterprise software integration, Report and/or SQL development, Script Development, HL7 experience

  • Education Preferred: Master of Business or Healthcare Administration

  • Licensure/Certifications Preferred: None

Responsibilities:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide on-going support and management of hospital ERP system, financial and business applications, and other systems as required.

  • Lead system audits and assists in managing application security and integrity.

  • Lead research, development process, and system improvement efforts.

  • Lead development of documentation and training material.

  • Lead IT training programs as needed for end-users and IT Support staff.

  • Lead evaluation of hospital applications and user needs.

  • Lead project teams and develop project plans for implementing and upgrading various application systems.

  • Support, maintain, and implement integration between the ERP system, hospital EMR, and other applications.

  • Consult with management to determine goals and objectives, and then design applications to meet them.

  • Develop application specifications, identify the required inputs and format the output to meet users' needs.

  • Prepare cost-benefit and return-on-investment analyses to determine the feasibility of implementing proposed technology solutions.

  • Develop and evaluate Request for Proposals (RFP) as needed.

  • Able to work independently as well as part of a team.

  • Provide leadership and expertise to other analysts, support staff, and programming.

  • Serve as subject matter expert for projects and strategic planning.

  • Work with development team to develop and test integration projects.

  • Keep IT Management informed of application issues.

  • Keep abreast of new technologies and development related to HIS systems and the healthcare industry.

  • Ensure confidentiality of employee records and information.

  • Adheres to established hospital and department policies and procedures.

  • Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor.

  • Follows North Oaks Health System's compliance programs and all federal and state regulatory guidelines.
