Sr. Analyst, Real Estate

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Sr. Analyst will play a pivotal role in the strategic expansion of our real estate portfolio. This individual will be responsible for conducting comprehensive market analysis, financial modeling, and due diligence to identify and evaluate potential investment opportunities. Collaborating closely with the real estate team, the Sr. Analyst will contribute to the development of investment theses and the execution of strategies. The ideal candidate will bring a strong analytical background, a keen eye for detail, and a proven track record in real estate transactions to drive successful outcomes for the company. This position is based in California and candidates must be able to work in-state.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Underwrite new investment opportunities using detailed spreadsheet models and conduct market surveys, interview brokers, interact with property management personnel & tenants.

• Provide support in the negotiation, due diligence, and closing of real estate investments including processing transaction documentation, coordinating and analyzing third-party reports, and interacting with counterparties and escrow agents.

• Demonstrate ownership and accountability of all underwriting exercises and due diligence tasks for each potential transaction.

• Contribute to the timely achievement of the acquisition team's internal and external deadlines.

• Provide senior management with ad hoc information regarding current market conditions, including supply, demand, and competitor activity.

• Contribute to the preparation of investment memoranda to be presented to internal investment committee.

• Leverage knowledge of capital markets, including equity and debt financing, to support the development and execution of financial strategies.

• Conduct rigorous financial analysis, modeling, and due diligence for potential capital markets transactions, including underwriting investment opportunities.

• Collaborate with team to execute various capital transactions, including equity raises, debt placements, and refinancing efforts.

• Stay updated on market trends, economic indicators, and regulatory changes that may impact capital markets activities and investment decisions.

• Assess and mitigate risks associated with capital markets activities, ensuring regulatory compliance.

• Assist in maintaining and cultivating relationships with investors and financial partners.

• Prepare and present comprehensive reports and presentations to internal and external stakeholders.

• Work closely with cross-functional teams to align capital market strategies with overall business objectives.

REQUIREMENTS:

• 2-5 years of experience in capital markets, real estate finance, or investment banking. Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or accounting. (MBA or CFA a plus).

• Strong financial modeling & analytical acumen with detail-oriented presentation creation capabilities (ARGUS, EXCEL).

• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

• Real estate experience with Government-leased properties, self-storage, manufactured housing, and multifamily sectors preferred.

• Strong interpersonal and communication & presentation skills to interact with both internal and external stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

• Excellent analytical skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Software.

• Ability to meet deadlines quickly and accurately, multi-task and work well under pressure with changing priorities.

• Learn quickly, maintain an environment of excellence, and contribute to a "can do" culture.
