Primary Job Function:
Primary point of contact for Business Solutions & Services (BSS) license management. Provides direct support to Plan/Build/Run and Division SMEs to develop business case and optimize license portfolio.
Takes lead to ensure support & maintenance of software licenses / subscriptions are renewed and related payments processed in a timely and accurate manner. Works with BSS Run Client Service Managers (CSM), Plan/Build leads, and/or Division SMEs to confirm software license requirements and related funding alignment. Works with Purchasing and Back Office teams to create Purchase Orders and process payments.
Ensures license renewals are processed within approved budget plans. Adheres to Abbott IT, Purchasing and Finance policies and procedures. Ensures software asset inventory is maintained and accurate.
Core Job Responsibilities:
Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional policies and procedures.
Applies and executes standard information systems and software licensing methodologies, concepts and techniques and assists in the development of standards and procedures.
Responsible for proactive monitoring and processing of software license support & maintenance renewals including confirming the current & future needs with BSS Run CSMs, submitting CRC request to Purchasing, and ensuring processing of PO and invoices in a timely and accurate manner. Prioritize urgent renewals to avoid any disruption to application support.
Ensures license renewals including yearly inflation/uplift are processed within approved budget plans and budget is aligned for new license scope from division to BSS. Acts as primary contact point for invoice queries, and liaises between vendors and Abbott Accounts Payable. Monitor and review software license compliance.
Responsible to manage and maintain software asset inventory. Provide metrics necessary to manage software licenses.
Establishes and maintains productive relationships with all levels in the IT and organization, business function, and with external partners. Have a good understanding of other systems/business processes relationship to each other.
Independently conceives and develops general approaches to the problems which require application of basic technical principles. Exercises latitude in the approach to problem solving. Determines and develops approach and solutions to problem.
Position Accountability / Scope:
Works with minimal management direction. Guides/assists contingent worker(s). May have indirect team responsibility.
Maintain productive relationships with BSS Client Service Managers and Plan/Build leads, Division SMEs, Purchasing, IT Asset Management, Finance and software vendors/resellers. Regular assignments are completed with minimal supervision. Medium / high complexity work.
Bachelors Degree preferred or equivalent work experience
4-7 years of experience
Knowledge of regulations and standards affecting application support and software license compliance.
Knowledge in the use of the entire Microsoft Office suite.
Excellent Customer service and support skills.
Knowledge in records keeping, analysis, reporting, and software asset life cycle.
Knowledge of application support, software licensing, and contract management.
Knowledge and understanding of process flow and inventory system functionality.
