As a Senior Analyst for Credit Risk Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) and Regulatory Compliance at T-Mobile, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the company's strategic direction and improving its financial performance. Your expertise will be crucial in collaborating across various technical and business groups, quickly grasping the intricacies of their operations and control areas, conducting thorough analyses, and recommending impactful changes to critical business processes for risk management and control compliance.

This position has strong collaboration with IT, Business, Finance, Risk, Compliance, and Audit teams. You will use your analytical skills to take on moderately complex problems and provide clear, actionable recommendations to improve outcomes. Effective communication is key, as you will need to convey complex analyses, logic, and solutions succinctly to technical SOX teams and other partners.

Given the significant influence this role has on company direction, you must be confident in taking and defending well-supported positions. You will drive process efficiencies through innovation and optimization, becoming a domain expert in processes across all functions in Credit Risk and Collections. Familiarity with FCRA, ECOA, Fair Lending, and SOX regulations is essential.

Building strong, influential relationships with internal and external team members is vital. You will also be responsible for understanding data, process flows, and system flows, ensuring all documentation is accurately maintained.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist in establishing and implementing enterprise-wide Credit Risk SOX and Operational risk and governance programs including developing the framework, methodology, and tools for risk assessment, issue management, ongoing risk monitoring and reporting, as well as Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) platform management.

  • Collaborate with Compliance teams to ensure regulatory processes are updated as they evolve. Ensure that policies and procedures are in-line with the latest regulatory guidance. Communicate the compliance framework to all relevant partners at all levels (internal and external).

  • Assess end-to-end processes for T-Mobile from planning, scope development to execution. This includes: Identifying financial risks, and designing financial, data integrity controls to mitigate these risks. Collaborate with business, 2nd and 3rd line risk functions to update SOX documentation including process flowcharts, narratives, risk and controls matrices and the evaluation of scoping of controls as new systems are developed or modified. Proactively find opportunities for automating controls through the use of analytics and by partnering with various teams in implementing automation to enhance risk mitigation efforts. Validate design of data integrity and general controls and facilitating internal and external audits of credit processes.

  • Identify root cause and opportunities for improvement of internal controls and acquire consensus on remediation plans with key business partners (IT Operations, Product, Information Security and SOX teams).

  • Remediate SOX and IT issues for audit and self-identified issues, including development of remediation plans, and managing execution of remediation plans to remediate risks in achieving operational and compliance objectives.

  • Oversee the ongoing monitoring of risks and controls by the Credit Risk 1st line and establish ongoing risk reporting for leadership.

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Accounting, Business or a related field Area of Study (Required)

Work Experience:

  • 4-7 years Experience in a consumer based credit or lending organization and experience working in a SOX program environment (Required)
