The position of Tier 2 Network Technical Leader supports the day-to-day maintenance, support, testing, and activation of all Exelon customer based scada/telemetry data services on Exelon's extensive fiber optic and Copper network systems. Facilitates and supervises junior technicians and contractors in the assigned area f Philadelphia and/or Baltimore.
Provide senior level networking experience and leadership for customer projects.
Virtual and distributed switching.
Expertise with Enterprise-class Nokia & Cisco Routers, Rugged COMM Switches, Firewalls (ASA and CheckPoint),
Possesses solid understanding of IP networking and all associate components.
Administrates and Troubleshoots LAN/ WAN network related problems, must be familiar with Telco procedures and troubleshooting.
Thorough understanding of VPN, SSL, GRE and COMSEC tunnels.
Ensures that security procedures are implemented and enforced for all network devices.
Install, configure, manage, and maintain security of all network devices to established standards and best practices
Execute network implementation activities for multiple short- and long-term projects while adhering to all project management standards.
Ensures that long-term requirements of systems operations and administration are included in the overall systems planning of the organization.
Provides technical leadership in the integration and test of complex large-scale integrated networks.
Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills, be customer- and detail-oriented, and possess good decision-making abilities.
Must be willing to work independently and as part of a team.
Technical degree or equivalent and six or more years' professional experience
Strong knowledge of Cisco products, solutions and best practices
Strong knowledge of OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, MPLS, routing and switching theory
Strong knowledge of VPN technologies, SSL, IPSEC, site to site access, DMVPN and remote user access using Cisco AnyConnect
Strong knowledge of wireless technologies
Excellent analytical, conceptual, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Experience with adhering to ITIL processes
Participate in rotating on-call and queue monitoring schedules in a 24/7/365 environment
