Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Governance Sr Analyst to join our team. Reporting to the Manager of Data Management and Architecture, this role will be responsible for leading the design and setting up and maintaining the governance framework as well as implementing & operationalizing governance standards and DLP policies and processes to ensure compliance, in line with the company's digital & data strategy.

The primary objective of the role is to bring together foundational components of data governance to identify, classify and safeguard sensitive information and ensuring compliance with Cybersecurity and Data Governance policies, standards as well as Internal controls. This role involves monitoring data flows, identifying potential data security risks, and taking proactive measures to prevent data breaches. The Senior DLP Analyst will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data protection policies and procedures are effectively implemented and carried out. This role is also responsible for providing solutions that improve the quality and fidelity of data consumed by business processes and analytics use cases.

Your responsibilities may include:

DLP Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement DLP policies and procedures for structured data, including sensitive data identification, rule development, incident response

  • Collaborate with data owners to understand data sensitivity and implement appropriate DLP solutions

  • Configure and handle DLP tools for structured data monitoring, rule development, alerts, and reporting

  • Investigate and respond to DLP alerts for structured data, including breach determination, containment, and stakeholder notification

  • Stay updated on the latest DLP technologies and trends

Data Governance Responsibilities:

  • Develop, approve, and implement data governance standards, processes, and policies

  • Implement and champion compliance with data standards, policies, and procedures

  • Enhance data discovery, access, and collaboration while ensuring data governance and compliance

  • Align governance initiatives with the Digital & Data strategy to create a 360-degree view of asset and asset class data

  • Make authoritative decisions for the governance of data consumed into and out of our Data Warehouse (DWH) platform

  • Coordinate with Capability Leads, Business Units, and Functions to gather inputs required for data management artifacts (e.g., business information models, source data standards, technical standards, identification of authoritative systems and data)

  • Establish Data Governance committees/working groups, provide training, support, and escalate data governance issues to appropriate data owners and stakeholders

  • Define, monitor, and report on data quality Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Proactively identify opportunities for automation and continuous improvements

  • Maintain the Enterprise Data Catalog

  • Oversee data quality standards and remediation

  • Define, monitor, and report data quality KPIs

  • Stay current with trends and best practices in data governance

Basic/Required:

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Geoscience, Information Technology, Information Systems, STEAM, other related field or foreign equivalent

  • 7 or more years of experience working with data and security in IT systems, external data sources, and associated data tools

  • 5 or more years of experience implementing and supporting complex data governance initiatives

  • 3 or more years of experience in information security and/or IT risk management with a focus on data security, protection, and compliance

  • 3 or more years of experience with scripting and writing SQL queries

  • 1 or more years of Digital Forensics and investigations experience

  • 1 or more years of experience conducting data and security audits

  • Intermediate knowledge of cloud security and solutions, including native cloud provider security, Office 365 security, and Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM)

  • Intermediate knowledge of security methods and solutions to support DLP, encryption, key management, fine-grained access control, audit trail, detection, CASB, cybersecurity mesh, Secure Access Service Edge (SASE), and others

  • Intermediate knowledge of data management principles, processes, and data lifecycle

Preferred:

  • One or more security related professional certifications (CISSP, GIAC, CISM, CCSP, CISA, CRISC, etc.)

  • Ability to take ownership, engage, lead change, achieve results, adapt, problem solve, manage risk and drive tasks to completion.

  • Ability to lead initiatives, multi-disciplinary project teams, and influence stakeholder buy-in

  • Participate in strategy and planning sessions and be recognized as a capable team member that delivers value

  • Demonstrated ability to deal with ambiguity and maintain effective performance under stressful and uncertain conditions

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; proven ability to represent point of view and discuss technical information with the business users in business language

  • Team player, and self-driven individual who can multi-task, work independently under minimal supervision and deliver on commitments

  • Excellent analytical mind and proven problem-solving skills

  • Demonstrated leadership and peoples skills, with ability to engage at all levels of the organization

  • Confident in engaging all levels of the organization in communicating a data strategy

  • Ability to influence others and drive change around data standards and best practices

  • Delivers positive results through realistic planning to accomplish goals

  • Builds effective solutions based on available information and makes timely decisions that are safe and ethical
