The mission of the CoE is to enable commercial strategy and drive profitable sales growth by shifting our mind-set to being more "front office", by exceeding customer needs and improving customer experience in the areas of contracting, sales operations, business analytics and operational excellence.

This will be accomplished by standardizing, automating and integrating (CoE approach) as one company, driving data integrity and remaining agile to the evolving needs of customers and BD's Go-to-Market corporate and BU strategies.

Accountabilities in this role

Reporting to the Associate Director, Contract Execution, this position provides strong analytical and technical support to the Contract Execution team, who manage pricing and membership for GPO (National/Regional) and Local consumable agreements for the US Region. This position includes the development and implementation of analytical tools used to evaluate and align customer pricing and membership, through automated techniques. Working in partnership and collaboration within the Contract Execution team, IT, and with other Commercial Contracting and Operations teams, this position will provide expertise to drive internal operating efficiencies through system and process enhancements that maximize operating results, revenue and profitability.

The Sr. Analyst is accountable for the routine maintenance associated with the management of these newly created tools and processes, while providing training and ongoing support to ensure effective team utilization of solutions. The Sr. Analyst will promote process and tools standardization and best practices to drive team efficiency and performance improvements.

The Sr. Analyst will understand Commercial Contract Operations and associated policies, ensuring that the US Commercial Operations pricing and membership strategies is implemented. Engaging and collaborating closely with Contract Membership, Chargeback Operations, and other Commercial Operations pillars, this position will provide tools, training, and support to drive efficient and accurate customer price connections to optimize US Region results and overall financial risk.

  • This position will not have any direct reports, but will directly influence the results of the Contract Operations team through the deployment and support of best practice processes and analytic tools.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, train, and support technical tools used to automate GPO (National/Regional) and Local (when applicable) agreement membership/pricing connections.

  • Coordinate with IT and other Commercial Operations pillars to develop and deploy solutions that support Contract Operations membership strategies and policies.

  • Participate in any internal RFP discussion and review process to insure that the final agreement is capable of being executed as it relates to BD's system, policy, market segment grouping, tier movement and notification requirements

  • Responsible to develop MS Access based tiering models for new contract membership tiering, tier changes for existing members, and the connections of new members as they are received in chargeback submissions.

  • Responsible to ensure timely processing of chargeback errors relating to customer contract connections

  • Responsible for maintaining databases; updating data tables with new contracts and adjustments to already existing contracts to properly tier members throughout duration of the contract

  • Responsible to work with contract execution team in maintaining/troubleshooting access databases

  • Maintain training material (related to automated tools/applications) and update desktop procedures in order to ensure standard team practices that adhere to best practice efficiency and accuracy

  • Support Associate Director with industry organizations and initiatives to develop and drive best industry practices in an effort to increase pricing accuracy, eliminate errors and streamline processes

  • Lead and facilitate key projects as assigned by leadership

  • Collaborate with our Vistex and other IT partners to ensure the business requirements are supported while ensuring technology functionality and performance appropriately supports contracting activities

  • Provide subject matter expertise and drive the design and implementation of solutions that improve accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency for team member business process operations

  • Define and enforce policies, procedures, and processes to harmonize all aspects of contract execution operations, with appropriate flexibility to meet customer/market needs and dynamics

  • Identify and understand key areas of change management with the ability to recognize and communicate the impact of change to Contract Execution functional teams

  • Collaborate with our key business stakeholders to initiate business process continuous improvement activities, conduct root cause analysis, and determine error prevention solutions,

  • Inspire and empower the team to act with speed, agility and accountability enabling them to achieve excellence

  • Provide guidance and coaching to realize benefits with solution deployments and process improvements

Qualifications

  • BA/BS required

  • 5+ years' experience in commercial contract operations, analytics, finance, policy and process development and continuous improvement activities
    3+ years' experience demonstrated in developing, deploying, and supporting analytic and technical solutions

  • Strong technical skills in applications such as MS Access, Excel, Qlik, Business Intelligence and Vistex SAP ERP systems along with analytics and reporting solutions experience

  • General understanding of commercial contract operations management

  • Ability to stimulate and enable innovative thinking to drive change and effectiveness through high automation and process excellence

  • Ability to collaborate with IT, Commercial Analytics, Finance, and others to drive best in class analytic solutions for contract operations efficiency, timeliness and accuracy

  • Analytical problem solver with business acumen. Able to evaluate key business drivers and develop clear solution recommendations

  • Demonstrated project management skills and ability to drive team results

  • Ability to understand, organize and deliver on critical business requirements to drive solutions that advance our Contract Operations capabilities and achieve operational goals

  • Strong communications and change management experience

  • Proven ability to quickly establish credibility, trust, and support within all levels of organization.

  • Ability to travel, up to ~10-15%

(currently excluding BioSciences, Diabetes Care and Pharmaceutical Systems). As a member of the Contract Offer Development team, the Sr Contract Consultant Offer Development Integration will assist in developing a unified CLM system to harmonize and formalize processes of the now BD and Bard Commercial Contracting capability within the CoE combining the strengths and best practices of the legacy BD (CFN) and Bard companies. Will work in partnership and collaboration with the Commercial Operations team, SCG and Health Systems sales team, Business Integrators, Cross Functional Business Partners, Commercial Analytics and Legal to integrate Offer Development within US Region policies and governance in order to manage business opportunities and risk appropriately. This temporary position will support the US Region's Commercial Contracting Team through BD & BARD integration effort and is expected to last for an estimated 2 years.
