Position Summary:

The Senior Analyst, Commercial Analytics owns and manages the Orphan brands data streams, maintaining and mastering of patient data, and liaisons between data partners and the sales and marketing as well as management teams, while developing and delivering business insights for the BU.


  • Drive optimal promotional efforts by leveraging expertise and manipulation of large data sets using software such as Python and Microsoft SQL Server

  • Supports data assets of the organization including maintenance of datasets, data vendor management, and advancement of data warehouse initiatives. Advances the level of automation in order to provide most efficient use of data resources

  • Provides accurate and in-depth analyses to cross-functional leadership teams and serves as an integral part of the extended corporate and commercial team(s)

  • Collaborates with the Marketing/Operations team to fulfill data analysis needs in support of key strategic initiatives which balance personal and non-personal promotion

  • Provides stewardship over CRM and Patient Services platforms, relevant incoming data, and assist in identifying and resolving data anomalies and/or questions

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • BA/BS required

  • 2-4+ years in the pharmaceutical industry or in business analytics consulting, including experience in Analytics, Market Research and/or Sales Analytics; Software Development, Database Architecture, Project Management preferred

  • Demonstrated success developing and presenting solutions to complex business situations, supported by sound and thorough analytics

  • Highly proficient analytical and software skills aimed at data analysis

  • Demonstrated proficiency in data management and data platforms (such as Microsoft SQL Server), statistical modeling packages (such as Python, SAS, and/or, R) and general office productivity software (such as Microsoft Office)

  • Experience with Business Intelligence tools (PowerBI, Tableau, etc) preferred but not required

  • Proficient in the use and interpretation of pharmaceutical data including Rx, physician and claims level data sets

  • Strong ability to effectively analyze/interpret market research data to identify risks to the company

  • High degree of independence and exceptional work ethic
