This job exists to promote, develop, sell, and process customer financing transactions. It is to help drive commercial sales across the various sales channels of IR. The role interacts with lenders, direct sales offices, distributors, dealers and ultimately their customers.
Requires working with IR sales teams and managing a pool of lenders to qualify various types of commercial customers for equipment financing, under both Capital Lease, and Fair Market Value lease structures. Attend IR business unit (BU) sales meetings and present IRFS customer capabilities and customer financing as a sales tool.
Maintaining existing lender relationships to provide customer financing across IR BU's. It also includes meeting, consulting, and the development of additional lenders, for the purpose of providing an expanded base of lenders with the appetite for IR customers in specific industries that our BU's have or pursue.
Successful achievement of individual financing applications most often involves research, promotion, sales, and negotiation of the commercial program with these lenders. Includes taking opportunity from the credit application stage through the approval process, documentation and final funding.
Additional responsibilities include report out of activity and the use of the various commercial financing programs. Provide education & training to the IR sales teams on how to utilize financing, and assist the business units with the promotional financing programs they may offer.
Ensure market competitive financing rates among the various lenders and support IRFS website capabilities and data as needed. Must understand brand management and marketing concepts. Must be able to assist with consumer financing program activity management as required.
The majority of information involved in the day-to-day process is privileged, as it involves both business and personal credit sharing. Travel is occasionally involved. External contacts involve end-user, lending community, contractors, distributors, sales, and technical people.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; able to explain customer financing in plain language for non-finance people. Strong problem solving skills and the ability to work unsupervised and make independent financial and other decisions is required that are not necessarily driven by a formal policy are required. Must understand process change and continuous improvement techniques to constantly evaluate processes and the customer experience to maintain a high level of performance, reduced complexity, speed, and customer satisfaction.
A quick learner with high level of intellectual curiosity, able to see the big picture while maintaining attention to details; focus on essentials and prioritize appropriately.
5 year minimum experience. Bachelor's Degree. Post graduate work helpful, but not required. A graduate degree may lessen required experience. Credit and/or lending experience, with an understanding of financial information, documentation, industry trends, collection policies, and credit reporting habits. Expert understanding of finance and lending terms and concepts. Negotiation skills, ability to make presentations to various sized groups. Strong computer and technology skills (MS office suite, pricing software a plus).
