As a Sr Advanced Software Engineer here at Honeywell, you will work with a talented team of engineers responsible for designing and developing advanced software solutions for cutting-edge avionics technology.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, code, and test, and software solutions for avionics display systems

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand customer needs, design software architectures, and implement software modules

• Troubleshoot and resolve software issues to ensure system performance and reliability

• Software architecture and coding

• Integration

• Feature Definition

• Verification and Validation

• Analytical skills & software development skills

Up to 50% travel can be expected.

U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status.

YOU MUST HAVE

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics

• 8+ years of software engineering experience

• 8+ years of experience creating test cases for software based upon use cases derived from the system and software requirements

• 8+ years of experience with software development lifecycle (DO-178C preferred)

• 8+ years of experience with firmware & driver development experience

• 8+ years of software architecture design and embedded C++ coding experience

• Ability to write, read and speak English

WE VALUE

• Understanding various software development life cycles, methodologies and tools

• Proficiency in programming languages such Ada, Python and/or Open GL, as well as real-time operating systems (RTOS) and software development tools

• Object oriented development experience

• Touch & gesture development experience

• Multithreading/Multicore processing experience

• Experience in any of the following is a PLUS:

• Avionics products, i.e. Avionics Displays & Graphics, Flight Management, Autopilot, Flight Planning, Flight Controls, Flight Displays (PFD), Traffic Collision Avoidance (TCAS), Crew Alert Messaging (CAS), Terrain, Radios, etc

• Understanding of User Application development

• Knowledge of software configuration management and change management practices.

• Experience operating in an Agile framework
