As a Sr. Advanced Manufacturing Engineer, you will be working with a unique and gifted team developing exciting products for customers and collaborating with cross-functional team.

We are seeking an Sr. Advanced Manufacturing Engineer to conceptualize, specify, design and develop manufacturing tooling and equipment to support consumer product manufacturing in a regulated environment.

Key job responsibilities

  • Demonstrate a strong working knowledge of mechanical systems, with expertise in systems integration for a consumer product manufacturing process

  • Ability to work, prioritize and make decisions independently in a fast-paced, rapidly changing and ambiguous environment

  • Be a creative problem solver, who is passionate about innovation and customer experience

  • Product design activities to refine and DfX for improved manufacturability and reduces costs

  • Conceptualize, design and implement hardware tools and fixtures for manufacturing and test infrastructure

  • Strong design skills for designing, detailing, procuring, installing and debugging mechanical designs

  • Lead team on SolidWorks modeling and drawing standards for ISO compliant documentation packages.

  • Support facilities and equipment with pneumatics designs, implementing and documentation

  • Manage the release of equipment and design documentation in documentation system and SW PDM Professional

  • Support team and projects in specifying and implementation of automation equipment

  • Work as part of a cross-functional team to support manufacturing transfer and volume manufacturing

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering, manufacturing, industrial or other related technical degree

  • 10+ years of experience in mechanical design, development, implementation of complex of manual and automated high-speed manufacturing and packaging technologies in a manufacturing environment

  • 4+ years of experience with SolidWorks and Professional PDM

  • 5+ years of experience with injection molding design and development

  • 2+ years of experience with ANSI/ISO standard detail drawing and fabrication

  • Experience with full life cycle (design, development, deployment & support) of large-scale manufacturing systems

  • Experience with DfX (Design for Cost, Test, Manufacturing, Assembly, Automation)

  • Demonstrated influence in selection of sensors, actuators, electro-mechanical design and implementing controls in production systems

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Advanced degree in manufacturing, industrial, mechanical engineering, controls engineering or other related technical degree

  • Experience with implementing automation systems for processing and material handling

  • Expertise with robotics programming (Fanuc, ABB, etc.) and machine vision programming (Cognex, Keyence, etc.)

  • Hands on experience identifying, maintaining, troubleshooting, programming and designing HMI, control network components, motor controls and standard electrical components

  • Application of GD&T and practical inspection principals as they relate to volume part qualification

  • Hands on quick turn prototyping (3D printing) and machine shop (mill and lathe) skills

  • Experience working in a regulated environment

  • Strong analytical skills to explore data and develop engineering solutions

  • Excellent written and verbal communication, ability to present and explain design, defect data, metrics, supplier quality, improvement initiatives and status to leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $114,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $213,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
