We are seeking a Senior level Mechanical Engineer to join our engineering team in the field of natural gas distribution, metering, and regulation located in Fort Washington, PA.

Key Responsibilities

This individual will be responsible to drive various aspects of product development activities including mechanical design, evaluation of new product opportunities, product validation activities, value engineering analysis, product certification activities, and development and execution of characterization testing. Other responsibilities will include creating and evaluating conceptual designs, technical analysis, working closely with manufacturing, and resolution of engineering problems in all aspects of the mechanical engineering discipline.

The successful candidate will work in a global environment and must be able to think globally, allowing for cultural, geographical, and even time zone differences to ensure project goals and objectives meet business expectations.

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience with SolidWorks and/or Pro-ENGINEER.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in analyzing and solving complex technical problems and providing solutions that can be implemented in a timely manner.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in producing detailed engineering and assembly drawings and cross-checking with actual parts.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience performing laboratory testing to verify and confirm design outputs meet the design inputs.

WE VALUE

  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience as a mechanical engineer in a New Product Introduction (NPI) environment.

  • Excellent communication and technical writing skills in English, capable of adapting style and tone according to the situation and audience. Effectively communicates message to all levels, including to senior leadership.

  • After COVID-19: Ability to travel to manufacturing site(s) in Ohio, Nebraska, and potentially Mexico. Infrequent 3-5 day trip.

  • Experience in considering how your designs, and design changes, impact manufacturing.

  • Ability to interface with vendors about design requirements, performance, and quality of purchased parts.

  • Previous involvement in defining and developing processes related to design, analysis, test, manufacture, quality and productivity. Familiarity with requirements of and considerations for product certification processes indicative of third party or regulatory agency certifications.

  • Experience in performing classical engineering analysis on designs, such as engineering stress analysis, fatigue and vibration analysis, using both conventional engineering techniques and computer simulation.

  • Experience in design of injection molded plastic parts, machined plastic and metal parts, cast parts and forged parts.

  • Experience in the natural gas industry (e.g. transportation, distribution, regulatory compliance) is a nice-to-have.
