At Axcella Health, we are a biotechnology company pioneering the research and development of novel multifactorial interventions to support health and address dysregulated metabolism across a broad spectrum of consumers and patients who have limited options. Our AXA Candidates are generated from our proprietary, humanfocused AXA Development Platform and harness the power of endogenous metabolic modulators (EMMs), a broad family of molecules that fundamentally impact and regulate human metabolism.

Using our AXA Development Platform, we have rapidly generated a pipeline of AXA Candidates that are novel compositions of EMMs engineered in distinct ratios and designed to target and maximize the fundamental role that EMMs play in regulating multiple metabolic functions. Our platform has produced a rich pipeline of AXA candidates with programs focused on the metabolic functions of the liver, muscle, and blood.

  • We are developing our lead AXA Candidate, AXA1665, as an investigational drug product for hepatic encephalopathy (HE). We have not made a development path decision for our other AXA Candidates.

We are looking for a resourceful and proactive Senior Administrative Assistant to join our team. Reporting to the Chief Business Officer, this role will have direct responsibilities to support two executive team members and provide general administrative support to the company.

Responsibilities

  • With limited guidance, manage calendars, meetings, travel arrangements, and expense reports in support of the Chief Business Officer and Chief IP Officer.

  • Be responsible to support the planning and coordination of company meetings (i.e., trainings, staff meetings, and platform meetings).

  • Support event planning for both external and internal office events, including scheduling conference rooms, ordering meals, etc.

  • Provide support to head of HR in scheduling interviews, coordinating candidate travel, processing candidate expenses, and greeting candidates.

  • Be a contributing member to the administrative support team. Work closely with other administrative staff on shared travel arrangements, meetings, agenda compilation, briefings, and internal department events.

  • Provide back-up administrative support to other departments as necessary and other duties as required

  • Be a point of contact to visitors creating a positive experience of Axcella.

  • Be accountable to order company lunches, food, supplies.

  • Maintain adequate office supplies inventory, place re-stocking orders as needed.

  • Foster effective relationships with suppliers (office supplies, facilities and maintenance).

  • Help to ensure that meeting rooms and public spaces are properly maintained and presentable.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 plus years' experience directly providing administrative support to leadership team members, preferably at a biotech company

  • Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint applications

  • Must have the ability to comfortably interface with all levels of staff and stakeholders in and outside the organization

  • Outstanding organizational skills, high attention to detail, and consistent follow through.

  • Detail-oriented, autonomous and will be able to handle highly confidential information with discretion

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment managing multiple competing priorities simultaneously.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
