In this role, you are embedded within the ADAS department as a Sr. ADAS and AD Systems Engineering Technical Lead to collaborate with a wide range of cross-functional teams at Lucid Motors on tracking and bringing to completion of all phases of ADAS/AD feature development and release process.

The Sr. ADAS and AD Systems Engineering Technical Lead will help guide the internal ADAS teams as well as external suppliers in the development of ADAS and Autonomous Driving features for Lucid vehicles.

This role is located on-site at Headquarters in Newark, Ca.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Lead and track all phases of ADAS/AD feature development process from proof of concept to requirements definition, functional safety deliverables, software implementation, build process, verification and validation, defect triage, bug scrub, and release to customer

  • Collaborate with a wide range of cross functional and cross-organizational teams at Lucid Motors to define and track dependencies and getting alignment on program milestones and deliverables

  • Track functional safety deliverables as per ISO26262 including item definition, HARA, FSRs, TSRs, etc.

  • Create release timeline and capture dependencies within ADAS internal (Perception, Motion Planning & Conytrol, Platform, Data, Maps, etc.), and ADAS external (InfoT, Controls, Chassis, etc.) teams, and external suppliers

  • Lead daily issue triage and bug scrub standup meetings to track all the bugs to closure

  • Contribute to the ADAS/AD roadmap, strategic planning, and production rollout planning

  • Report to Executive leadership on team progress towards milestones and articulate potential program risks and resources needed to mitigate the risks

  • Manage team budget and resources to ensure on-time delivery of work products and ADAS/AD vehicle features

  • Manage supplier interactions and track supplier deliverables, and communicate and escalate blockers as needed

  • Lead the development/adoption of processes and tools for ADAS/AD Systems Engineering at Lucid

  • Work closely with other teams to ensure good communication to achieve a seamless and robust vehicle implementation

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors in System Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science

  • 8+ years of experience in the automotive field, with ADAS/AD features and systems

  • 2 years of program management experience

  • Proven track record of bringing automotive ADAS/AD customer features into production

  • Knowledge and experience in the ADAS/AD system, ISO26262 and functional safety process, FMEA and FTA, V&V process, and software and hardware architectures and interfaces

  • Experience designing, debugging, testing and bringing up complex hardware/software systems

  • Experience with automotive supplier interaction, specification development, project/release management, and change management process

  • Familiarity with the development and bringup of ADAS sensor and compute hardware designs

  • Capability and creativity to successfully complete projects with unconventional ideas in highly constrained, innovative startup environments

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters in System Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science with 6 years related experience or Ph.D. with 3 years experience

  • Previous project management experience from an OEM or a Tier1 in ADAS/AD feature definition, functional safety, systems engineering and validation testing

  • Previous experience with ADAS customer functions at a Tier 1 or OEM

  • Previous experience with lean-agile framework, and development and deployment process

  • Management of suppliers responsible for delivering sensor, camera and/or compute hardware

  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and applicable safety standards for typical ADAS features (e.g. ASPICE, FMVSS, EuroNCAP, R79, GSR2, etc.)

Salary Range: The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.

Additional Compensation and Benefits: Lucid offers a wide range of competitive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance, vacation, and 401k. The successful candidate may also be eligible to participate in Lucid's equity program and/or a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing such programs. (Cash or equity incentive awards, if any, will depend on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and company performance.)

Base Pay Range (Annual)

$163,700-$240,020 USD
