We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Accounts Payable Coordinator within our Business Unit located at Orlando Florida.
The Senior Accounts Payable Coordinator has responsibility for assisting in the Accounts Payable functions for the Alere North America, Inc. (Orlando, Florida) in compliance with all GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley regulations and procedures. Please note, this is a highly collaborative team environment and daily responsibilities include significantly more general ledger journal entries, searching SAP for information on when invoices are due, if payments have been made, and timing of optimal payments vs. a more traditional "manual data entry" AP Coordinator position.
Perform Accounts Payable payment process on Bi-Weekly basis
Reconcile external vendor statements: Research, analyze and resolve complex payment and vendor issues
Coordinate with external vendors and assist with outstanding invoices
Evaluate all invoices received from vendors, verify receipt dates
Process new vendor setup requests and ensure proper approvals are obtained as well as required documentation submitted
Monitor all Account Payable payments and ensure compliance to company policies
Develop and maintain professional relationships with new vendors and handle all inquiries from customers and employees.
Charge expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice/expense reports; recording entries
Maintain accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions
Build & maintain cooperative relationships with internal and external functions
Assist with reconciliation of Accounts Payable Accrual accounts
Assist with the Accounts Payable month end close process
Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential
Ensure deadlines are met and issues are resolved in a timely fashion
Participate in special projects, ad hoc reports, and cross-train with other team members
Researches and analyzes when invoices are due and assesses best payment timelines
Precise, accurate, detailed taking ownership and pride in work performed
5 + years Accounts Payable or General Accounting experience is required
H.S. Diploma, GED or equivalent 5 years of General Accounting experience
Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
Demonstrated initiative as collaborative team player assisting with continuous process improvements
Proactive problem solver with attention to detail, and prior success with continuous process improvements around Accounts Payable, General Ledger or similar processes.
Demonstrates excellent communication, customer service skills with the ability to articulate complex issues clearly, concisely and professionally
Demonstrated business acumen processing invoices
SAP experience highly desired
Associate or Bachelor's Degree preferred
Prior global healthcare experience desired
