Position Summary

The Senior Accounting & Finance Manager is a role within the corporate Finance team that supports it's assigned business unit, BetterHelp, with operational, compliance and analytical aspects of the financial function. This position will collaborate with both the corporate finance team and the internal business and operations teams at BetterHelp.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Process and oversee client billing, provider payments, affiliate payments and Accounts Receivable functions in a timely manner

  • Prepare monthly flux analysis and analyze expenses to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the recorded expenses

  • Identify and implement process improvements including documentation of accounting and operational policies and procedures as related to job responsibilities

  • Assist in the company's financial audit or internal control testing by preparing schedules or providing proof of performed internal controls

  • Assist in the preparation of periodic financial updates, including analysis of actual expenditures to budgeted expenditures

  • Research and respond to business owner inquiries in a timely, accurate and professional manner

  • Assist in developing and maintain system controls and standard operating procedures, as well as provide input and recommendations for continuous improvement

  • Provide reports and analysis on a variety of financial operation metrics and KPI's, including membership, revenue, number of members and any other metrics as requested

  • Effectively interface with internal cross-functional staff at all levels, ensuring local and global teams understand the needs for information and conclusions reached

  • Work with executive team on budgeting and forecasting process

  • Assist with special projects, analysis and other tasks as appropriate

  • Assist in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the business unit; Identify areas for improvement and assist in implementing systems, processes, and software that automate internal processes and improve efficiency

  • Find, initiate, analyze, pursue and execute cost-savings opportunities

Skill Requirements and Preferences:

  • 5+ years of accounting experience required

  • Experience with tech startups - preferred

  • Public company and experience with U.S. GAAP - preferred

  • Strong quantitative analysis capabilities, with the ability to read, analyze, interpret and explain complex financial data

  • Business and product interest and understanding

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with ability to execute multiple tasks in a fast-paced, changing environment

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across all levels within the organization

  • Strong analytical and data-driven mindset

  • Advanced Excel skills

  • Strong project management and process improvement skills

  • Hands on approach we are a nimble team

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or other related field
