This position is responsible for researching and analyzing the organization's financial transactions and preparation and support of resultant financial reporting for internal management and external organizations.
Month end close - JE's, analysis, actual vs. budget and forecast support.
Budget - build files, assist Managers, reporting, upload and manage budget process flow.
Build and publish monthly FSG financial reports, including departmental.
SG&A analysis throughout month vs. Budget and Forecast assist Managers.
Build and upload Forecast files. Work with Managers to project future activity.
PO/Requisition GL validation and approvals.
Royalty calculation and reporting.
Returns Reserve Model, update and support.
Inter-company transactions review and approval.
Accounts Payable Accrual research, review and approval.
US Government Census and Survey build files and support.
SPECIFIC JOB SKILLS
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Micro Strategy - user and development, filters, SQL
Oracle or other Tier 1 ERP experience.
Accounting research on proper application of GAAP.
Experience working with retailers in a consumer goods type business.
Systems background, particularly in manipulating data files.
Analytical approach to working with financial data.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in Business with emphasis in Accounting or Finance, along with 5-7 years of progressively responsible experience in the area of Accounting or Finance; or any combination of experience and education that provides the necessary skills, knowledge and ability to perform assigned tasks.
This position currently does not require direct report management.

While this job has recurring work situations with occasional variations from the norm, duties involve a high degree of complexity due to the nature of the work of a Sr. Accountant. Duties are performed under general direction; reporting directly to the VP Finance, using a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures along with established guidelines. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected and the use of discretion is required. On a regular and continuous basis, exercises sound business judgment and assume responsibility for decisions, consequences and results having an impact on people, costs, and /or quality of service within the functional area. Errors in judgment, time management and level of professionalism effect the smooth and efficient operation of the Sr. Accountant as well as the reputation of the department ultimately impacting management, customer and staff trust levels.
Duties are primarily performed in an office environment while sitting at a desk or computer terminal. Travel to customers required 0% by air to location out of the area and by car in the local area. Ability to work with tight time lines in an ever changing environment and moderate to extensive overtime may be required.
