Position Overview

This position functions as a key member of the Corporate Accounting team and includes extensive involvement in the month end close process, account reconciliations, and financial reporting support. This individual will work directly with business partners in the field as well as finance to resolve issues, ensure compliance, and provide reporting assistance. This position is expected to play an important role in the company's internal control activities in support of Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE JOB

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, performing duties associated with monthly financial close, maintaining a strong internal control environment, financial reporting, and audit support.

  • Perform monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables such as journal entries, reconciliations, and reports in compliance with GAAP.

  • Prepare timely and accurate account reconciliations for selected accounts.

  • Research accounting transactions, determine the proper accounting treatment, and recommend adjustments as needed.

  • Develop, document, implement, and manage general accounting processes, controls, and systems.

  • Assist with interim and annual audits, preparation of supporting schedules, analyses and audited financial statement documentation.

  • Maintain and improve controls to ensure ongoing compliance with the requirements of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.

  • Continuously identify opportunities to streamline and optimize accounting processes, systems, and reporting.

  • Implement best practices to enhance efficiency and scalability as the company grows.

  • Assist other co-workers with related tasks as needed.

  • Carry out Ad-hoc projects as necessary.

Skills We Are Seeking

  • BS in Accounting required.

  • CPA or CPA track preferred.

  • Minimum 3 years of progressive corporate accounting experience; distribution industry a plus.

  • Experience and strong understanding of monthly close and reporting cycles in a large complex US corporate environment.

  • Experience in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with demonstrated ability to anticipate next steps, take initiative, and apply sound judgment.

  • Experience with large ERP, preferably Microsoft AX Dynamics.

  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a demonstrated ability to work effectively across functions.

  • Advanced Excel skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and a passion for digging into processes to better understand them and communicate the big picture.
