We're searching for a Senior Accountant, SEC Reporting & Technical Accounting to join Aurora's technical accounting and SEC reporting team. The accounting and reporting team is responsible for internal and external financial reporting and technical accounting assessments as well as parts of month-end close.
In this role, you will
Support the Company's external financial reporting process, including the preparation of external financial statements and disclosures as required by the Securities and Exchange Commission (Form 10-Q's and Form 10-K's).
Participate in the month end close process including preparing journal entries and reconciliations.
Support a continuous improvement by reviewing current processes and helping to suggest areas of improvement to facilitate a more efficient SEC and financial reporting process.
Monitor and remain informed on new and proposed accounting and regulatory developments and evaluate their potential effect on the Company and its financial statements, including but not limited to items issued by the FASB and SEC.
Work with the finance organization to ensure the Company's compliance with generally accepted accounting principles by consulting on technical accounting and reporting requirements.
Conduct research and analysis of complex accounting issues and provide recommendations to management.
Perform analysis and special projects, as required.
Support SOX compliance and assist in the coordination of the annual audit and quarterly review activities of external auditors.
Support the preparation of income tax returns with external tax providers
Build relationships and regular communication with operational leaders to provide direct and timely assistance on matters that have accounting implications.
Complete ad hoc projects assigned by senior management, including analysis of business operations, proposed accounting treatment of significant or unusual transactions, or other accounting and finance-related matters.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting
Minimum 3 years public accounting experience and/or public company experience.
Experience with SEC reporting.
Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
Requires good written and verbal communication skills.
Organized and detail oriented.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
Desirable Qualifications
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred.
Big 4 experience is preferred.
Exposure to Workiva and NetSuite
Experience with stock-based compensation and lease accounting under ASC 842
The base salary range for this position is $101,000 -$152,000 per year. Aurora's pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate's starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future. The successful candidate will also be eligible for an annual bonus, equity compensation, and benefits.
