This position is responsible for financial support of the IR Optics & Materials Division and the EMLO Business Unit. The position will work closely with all levels of the organization and perform duties that include Financial Reporting, Planning, Analysis, Manufacturing Support, and Accounting. Additional ad-hoc activity will be incorporated into the role as required.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Education:

  • Bachelor Degree in Finance or Accounting.

Experience:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience inclusive of the following:

  • Worked in a vertically integrated manufacturing environment

  • Usage of ERP systems,

  • Advanced SAP experience

  • Advanced Excel Skills

  • Capital reporting and forecasting

  • Financial Reporting

  • Financial Planning, & Analysis

  • Knowledge of Hyperion and Smart View a plus

  • Cost Accounting highly preferred

Special Skills:

  • Experience with all aspects and areas of fully integrated ERP System

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

  • General understanding of month end close

  • Strong understanding of inventory

  • Ability to achieve results independently or working with others

  • Knowledge and experience in cost accounting and standard cost systems

  • Ability to consolidate data via MS Excel and create reports

  • Ability to perform in a cross-organizational, cross cultural, global team environment

  • Experience with consolidations and foreign operations a plus

  • Ability to communicate with peers and management at all levels of the organization

  • Ability to handle multiple priorities involving internal customer requests and demands

Job Elements

  • Develop a thorough understanding of the Coherent Corp. Financial Close, Re-porting, Budget and Forecasting process and requirements

  • Assist with the reporting and analysis of departmental performance, margin analysis, and headcount and payroll detail.

  • Assist with month end closing processes

  • Explain Monthly movement in inventory with emphasis on gross margin and profit elimination.

  • Work with project managers on Capital Appropriations Requests and presentations.

  • Create, maintain, and dispose of Fixed Assets in ERP.

  • Update and maintain all CAPEX reporting, forecasting, and budget files.

  • Analyze Fluctuations in standard cost of sales.

  • Understand significant variances from forecast and budget.

  • Participate in monthly reviews and understand current trends on productivity, yields and work-in-progress.

  • Process improvements/documentation and work paper automation

  • Understand transfer pricing strategies and make sure levels are allowable and reasonable.

  • Ad Hoc duties as required.

Working Conditions:

Working conditions typical of a climate controlled and professional office environment. This role routinely uses stand-ard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Requires visits to manufacturing facility. Must be able to travel domestically and globally as the job requires.
