In the role of Senior Accountant, you will handle the preparation and consolidation of financial statements, the analysis and reconciliations of accounts, and the analysis of cash flow. You will also establish budgets and forecasts, prepare audits, and manage internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. High-level analytical skills are a must. This full-time position comes with a strong compensation and benefits package, as well as the chance of growth. This Senior Accountant role is based in Santa Fe, New Mexico with a company in the Mortgage Companies field. Responsibilities

  • Produce monthly consolidated P L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management purposes

  • Review financial information such as trends, performance metrics, benchmarks, etc. and present analysis in a clear manner

  • Adherence to continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process

  • Delegate resources to Ad-hoc projects as necessary

  • When working with business partners, ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures and controls. Additionally, be able to provide support on special requests

  • Apply oneself to various department-wide initiatives

  • Provide monthly accounting closure procedures and deliverables, which includes journal entries, reconciliations, reports in compliance with GAAP - Contribute to coordinating quarterly reviews and SOX testing with internal and external auditors

  • Provide Balance Sheet account reconciliations


  • Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines

  • Excellent analytical, quantitative and social skills

  • Prior work done in public accounting is desired

  • Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities

  • 7+ years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience

  • ERP system experience

  • Strong time management skills preferred

  • Experience with account reconciliation

  • Accounts payable experience desired

  • Financial reconciliation experience

  • Bank reconciliations experience

  • General ledger experience

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • High attention to detail and possess excellent organizational and writing skills

  • Understanding of corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required

  • Experience in SOX control execution/documentation

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment

  • BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred
