Sr. Accountant

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Hyzon is looking for a Senior Accountant who will report to the Manager, Corporate Accounting and collaborate directly with both the Director, Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting and SVP, Finance & Accounting to support the strong and fast-paced accounting function that seeks to be a valued partner to the organization and drive successful outcomes. The Senior Accountant will be an integral part of the Corporate Accounting team that offers a wide variety of experiences and substantial opportunities for professional growth. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for supporting the buildout of a strong accounting function foundation to support the long-term success of Hyzon, including general ledger setup, ERP and other software implementations, proper controls, material costing, transfer pricing, technical accounting research and policies, along with supporting external advisors and financial reporting.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Immerse yourself fully in the new ERP Platform (Microsoft Dynamics 365) to become the Accounting Subject Matter Expert

• Maintain, analyze and reconcile balance sheet accounts

• Provide support for sub-ledger processes related to inventory and costing

• Assist in monthly close; includes preparing journal entries

• Support audit activities; prepare workpapers and work directly with external auditors

• Develop and maintain both policy and process for internal control procedures (SOX 404)

• Support tax reporting and filing

• Act as a primary interface between Hyzon and external parties

• Full fill other duties as requested

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's Degree in accounting, Master's / MBA a plus

• Solid presentation skills

• Experience with ERP systems, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations strongly preferred

• 2+ years' experience in Manufacturing Accounting preferred

• Active CPA license (or currently pursuing) preferred

• Experience in a global business environment strongly preferred

• Strong relationship building skills with all levels of the organization, including communication with our parent company

• Excellent working knowledge of GAAP

• Experience drafting financial statement notes, MD&A, and associated SEC filing requirements
