JOB SUMMARY: Excelerate Energy is seeking a Senior Accountant for our corporate office in The Woodlands, TX. Reporting to the Manager of Corporate Accounting, this role will involve preparing accounting transactions and reconciliations, with a strong emphasis on ensuring compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include but are not limited to the following activities. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions:

• Full Cycle Accounting:

• Post entries and perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes for assigned areas, ensuring timely and accurate recording and reconciliation to the general ledger.

• Ensure monthly records are accurate, delivered on time per corporate deadlines, and SOX compliant.

• SOX Compliance:

• Document and test internal controls, preparing related documentation.

• Conduct regular assessments of internal controls over financial reporting.

• Policy and Process Improvement:

• Develop business continuity plans, desktop procedures, and checklists.

• Improve existing processes for enhanced quality, efficiency, and compliance.

• Participate in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures.

• Audit Support:

• Assist in preparing audit schedules and support foreign subsidiary Controllers with corporate-level requirements for statutory audits.

• Special Projects:

• Undertake special projects and other duties as assigned.

Reporting Relationships:

This position reports directly to the Manager of Corporate Accounting. The successful candidate will collaborate with related financial departments (FP&A, project finance, treasury, tax, risk, and project control), commercial teams (vessel chartering and cargo trading), and operations and development teams.

Requirements

• Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.

• CPA preferred.

• Experience:

• 5+ years of relevant financial experience preferred.

• Proficiency in SAP with working knowledge of SAP FICO preferred.

• Experience with OneStream beneficial.

• Skills:

• Proficient in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.) strongly preferred.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

• Strong work ethic and sense of urgency.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Customer service orientation with strong follow-up and follow-through.

• Understanding of accounting and financial principles (IFRS and/or US GAAP).

• Strong influencing, collaboration, and critical thinking skills.
