ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

May perform any or all of the following duties:

  • Assists in leading the period end and quarterly close process.

  • Assists in the accounting, analysis, and oversight of the company's streams of revenue as assigned

  • Prepares detailed journal entries for Brand Accounting, Advertising and/or Corporate G&A. Areas covered include the following, but are not limited to: accrue for outstanding invoices; accrue for Advertising fund expenses; record revenues and expenses to the proper accounts; expense prepaids to the proper period; allocates expenses to the appropriate individual operating unit/department; etc.

  • Prepares comprehensive balance sheet and profit and loss analytics for management review purposes.

  • Partners with Shared Services functions for close processes and analytics.

  • Assists Corporate Reporting team and partners with Operations Finance team in analyzing trends and Actuals vs. Forecast.

  • Prepares ad hoc analyses for Management.

  • Analyzes and reconciles complex balance sheet accounts including roll-forwards.

  • Prepares quarterly balance sheet & profit and loss analytics for outside auditors.

  • Maintains general ledger accounts and departments in ERP system utilized in financial reporting.

  • Values efficiency and identifies and initiates process improvement opportunities.

  • Communicates with Operations and Corporate team members as appropriate for assigned areas.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS/CORE COMPETENCIES

  • 3+ years of experience that demonstrates a commanding knowledge of general accounting

  • BA/BS Degree in Accounting or Finance

  • CPA license strongly preferred

  • Prior experience working with computerized financial accounting system, preferably Oracle/Peoplesoft

  • Experience with Hyperion preferred

  • Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Word

  • Prior experience in account analysis and reconciliations

  • Willingness and ability to adapt quickly to ever-changing business needs and play pivotal roles in innovative and business driving projects

  • Demonstrates excellent oral and written communication skills and communicates effectively with various contacts (internal and external)

  • Proven ability to work independently, as well as in team settings

  • Must display strong analytical and organizational skills and have the ability to identify and implement process improvement strategies with positive business results

  • Must display a high level of confidentiality to ensure proper handling of sensitive information

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Corporate Office, fast paced, high volume of activity, and a deadline driven environment

  • Hybrid Work Environment. Minimum three days in the office each week. Monday and Tuesday are mandatory in office days, with the ability to flex Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Sitting for extended periods of time, using telephone, typing and/or operating a computer and/or mouse

  • Limited travel as needed

This position is not remote and will sit in Franklin, TN.</p><p>Your Job as a Senior Corporate Tax Accountant:</p><p>The Senior Corporate Tax Accountant will work in a fast-paced environment as part of a multidisciplinary team. The Senior Corporate Tax Accountant will be exposed to Federal, multi-state consolidated returns, international tax, provision preparation and tax planning. Heavy focus on Tax Compliance with exposure to income tax provision.</p><p>Your Responsibilities as a Senior Corporate Tax Accountant:</p><ul><li><p>Prepare annual corporate and partnership extensions and returns.</p></li><li><p>Calculate quarterly estimated tax payments.</p></li><li><p>Prepare responses to federal and state agency requests.</p></li><li><p>Roll forward and/or reconcile various tax-related accounts which may include but are not limited to: tax deferred balances, tax payables and uncertain tax positions.</p></li><li><p>Calculate Tax Depreciation.</p></li><li><p>Participate in the preparation of the quarterly and annual worldwide income tax provision calculation (ASC 740).</p></li><li><p>Research tax questions/issues and other special projects.</p></li><li><p>Provide support to other departments' companywide including but not limited to matters related to income, franchise, escheats and indirect taxes.</p></li><li><p>Perform other duties as assigned.</p></li><li><p>Maintains continuous awareness of the latest developments, best practices and trends in the functional areas of responsibility.</p></li></ul><p>Your Skills andas a Senior Corporate Tax Accountant:</p><ul><li><p>Minimum three years of tax accounting experience.</p></li><li><p>Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Finance or related field.</p></li><li><p>CPA preferred.</p></li><li><p>Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office; especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.</p></li><li><p>Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to interact effectively and professionally with individuals at all levels; both internal and external.</p></li><li><p>Self-motivated with strong organizational skills and superior attention to detail.</p></li><li><p>Must be able to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously within inflexible time frames.
