The associate in this position is accountable to the Director of Trust Services (who serves as the Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) for Edward Jones Trust Company).
This position is responsible for performing administrative reviews on all types of fiduciary accounts in the Trust Company. This includes:
Reviewing and understanding trust and other legal documents
Identifying risks in accounts and collaborating with individuals and all areas of the Trust Company to communicate those risks
Understanding state law and regulations and applying to specific account situations
Identifying risk trends to aid in the development and implementation of policies and procedures
Providing measures and reports to governance committees and the board as requested
Participating in business planning and partnering with Risk and Compliance Committee to identify review topics
Identifying opportunities for training Administrative associates and facilitating training as needed
This position is also responsible for assisting the AML Officer in executing the Trust Company's BSA/AML/OFAC Program. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Creating various reports by gathering, aggregating, and filtering client transaction data to identify client transaction "alerts" that meet specific criteria and thresholds
Reviewing, investigating, and analyzing the alerts to determine if the client activity is suspicious or unusual in nature
Escalating any unusual or suspicious activity and assisting the AML Officer in the investigation and filing of reports as necessary
Bachelors Degree required
At least 5 years trust/compliance experience is preferred.
Audit experience is preferred.
Advanced knowledge of fiduciary principles, estate and income taxation as well as the ability to use trust accounting system and general awareness of investment principles is required
Must be able to work independently, yet collaborate with multiple parties
Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential as this associate communciates with other associates on all levels
Must have the ability to clearly communicate complex matters in difficult situations
Experience using a variety of systems and tools is important
The individual should have the ability to read and understand trusts, wills, POAs, agency agreements, codicils and amendments, attorney letters, UTC, and IRA agreements; understanding of trust types and ownership types
