  • He/she must be a highly motivated, self driven performer that can envision opportunities, plan and execute strategies effectively to drive much needed business.

  • Responsible for sales, strategic account planning and overall relationship management for a number of "target" customers or a specific geographic territory.

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive sales plan for each "target" account and or geography and their buying centers covering the full portfolio of Motorola products and services (core and emerging technologies).

  • Assemble and coordinate a diverse team of internal & external sales resources to assess customer's needs and address their requirements.

  • Act as a trusted advisor to influence customer's technology platform decisions and develop preference and loyalty for Motorola Solutions.

  • Proactively develop large project opportunities encompassing a wide range of products and services.

  • Proactively engage and lead channel partners in selling Motorola products and services to customers buying centers where appropriate.

  • Develop strong relationships with key decision makers and influencers within and outside of public safety; Sheriff, Mayor, CIO, Police Chief, Fire Chief and other officials in order to understand and influence technology and funding priorities.

  • The candidate must master the MSI Sales Way and apply its principles and best practices to achieve sales goals while aligning all activities to the needs and preferences of our customers and partners.

  • Proactively engage Motorola executive sponsors to build a strategic relationship to position long-term opportunities for Motorola Solutions.

  • The successful applicant must be available at all times during the work week to travel as needed to drive grass roots opportunities in underserved and major commonwealth accounts.

  • Develop Motorola procurement vehicles for multiple solutions to be leveraged across an entire "target" account.

General Position Summary: This position is responsible for managing and leading a team of software developers in designing, implementing, and validating the software for Ventricular Assistance Device systems (VAD). Day in the Life * Assists designing, coding, and debugging implantable or external embedded software and/or corresponding testing asset. * Develops and enforces software development processes that are compliant to 62304, AAMI, and/or other applicable medical device software development regulation. * Documents and presents company software development processes and deliverable items to appropriate regulatory agencies * Initiates and/or resolves software design tradeoffs. * Initiates and/or resolves system/SW engineering issues such as inter-processor communication issues, intermittent behaviors, device hardware/firmware or device/programmer architecture design tradeoffs, tolerance/performance analysis, etc. * Assists with system/SW application usability assessments. * Supervises and manages a team of software engineers conducting system/software development activities * Represents SW development effort in interdisciplinary discussions * Creates innovative solutions that provide Medtronic a competitive advantage * Thoughtfully counsels and provides high impact advice * Complies with all design-related standards developed by external regulatory groups. * Recruits and hires personnel for the Product Development group. * Assists in recruiting other technical talent, as may be required from time to time by other departments. * Complies with department and corporate quality initiatives. * Performs other duties and responsibilities, as assigned. Must Have: Minimum Qualifications * Bachelors's degree in Engineering or Computer Science or related * Minimum of 7 years of software devepment or verificaiton experience with 5+ years of managerial experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with 5+ years of managerial experience. Nice to Have * Experience working in a class III medical device industry or other critical, regulated industries * Strong working knowledge of both C and C++ coding languages * Working familiarity with state-of-the-art software methodology and tools * Solid understanding of system/SW engineering principles * Solid understanding of advantages and limitations of different software engineering tools * Solid understanding of system quality control principles and their application * Strong leadership skills * Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills About Medtronic Together, we can change healthcare worldwide.
