Large group new sales position responsible to assist in developing the strategic direction as to acquiring large groups and executing on the same. Increase ConnectiCare membership by meeting and exceeding sales targets through new group sales, prospecting, and effective client and broker management.
Sells and enrolls new groups which meet the underwriting standards through research, solicitation, and use of professional sales and marketing techniques including management of brokerage community and the preparation of presentations, including but not limited to written proposals, oral presentations and laptop presentations.
Develops relationships with key external constituents, brokers and prospects in order to promote ConnectiCare capabilities and exceed sales goal.
Assist the Sales Business Leader in trouble-shooting difficult employer group and broker situations.
Actively utilizes and maintains broker management tool, prospect management tool and other sales management tools, as directed.
Maintains high standards of performance for the responsibilities and tasks expected of an Account Executive.
Identifies and reports to the department staff information on the strengths and weaknesses of ConnectiCare and the competition.
Provides leadership and direction for responding to RFP's and presenting finalist and capability presentations to employers and brokers/consultants.
Effectively, cleanly transition new case business to Account Management and assists in the servicing of specifically designated ConnectiCare accounts and other assigned responsibilities which affect the overall success of the department and ConnectiCare's image.
Regularly increases knowledge and understanding of trends and regulations that impact the industry and our market place.
Performs other related projects and duties as assigned.
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
At least 7 -10 years of previous sales experience in an HMO, Health Insurance field preferred.
Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills including public speaking required.
Strong negotiation skills.
Strong understanding of industry trends and regulations.
Excellent mathematical, financial skills required.
Demonstrated ability to work independently with little supervision.
Must possess appropriate state Accident and Health License at time of hire.
