Role

Do you want to make a difference and be part of a highly collaborative, cross-functional team committed to enhancing our trading and portfolio management capabilities within Fidelity's Fixed Income Bond Technology organization within the Asset Management business unit?

We are looking for a Fixed Income Bond SMA Squad Leader who will blend investment management, relevant industry knowledge and an Agile mindset for delivering results with a passion. As the product owner you are the end-to-end gatekeeper of the squad's mission, strategy, and tactical execution associated with delivering on strategic priorities.

In an Agile structure, you will partner with other Fidelity leaders to influence the broader strategic decisions, roadmaps, and resource requirements. You will set and refine the mission, and bring together a team of chapter members to execute. You will align the Squad on the "what" and "when" work is to be performed through ongoing planning and prioritization of a product backlog. You will enable squad members to work iteratively, innovate through testing and experimentation and learn from failures while celebrating success. You are committed to developing your own expertise and knowledge to ensure you bring the latest thinking to your role. Your responsibilities include:

  • Defining, refining, and communicating the squads' mission and roadmap to empower and establish team and partner support and alignment.

  • Defining, evaluating, and communicating results against acceptance criteria.

  • Anticipating, discovering through ongoing interaction with, and prioritizing client / partner needs to serve as their voice and guide execution of the team.

  • Measuring performance against established objectives and critical metrics and delivering agreed upon business, technology, and people results.

  • Collaborating and coordinating with chapter leaders and scrum masters to build squad capacity and capability and enabling squad member growth, development, and learning.

  • Making informed trade-off decisions to strike the right balance between quality, cost, and timelines.

  • Participating in client meetings to present strategic roadmaps, participate in client usability sessions, engage with client user groups.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in business, computer science or engineering preferred.

  • 7+ years' experience working as a Product Owner in a software development environment.

  • Proven experience designing, creating, and maintaining dynamic products and solutions.

  • Experience building roadmaps and working with Agile team to deliver on milestones.

  • Strong working knowledge and proven experience leading an Agile development team.

  • Asset Management, especially Fixed Income Bond experience preferred.

  • You grasp sophisticated product features and break them into clear and concise narratives with well-defined business value and acceptance criteria and efficiently communicate these.

  • You have a strong focus on execution and identify, communicate, and remove impediments to progress.

  • You are capable of leading, influencing, and motivating colleagues without formal authority, and have a track record of building hard-working teams.

  • You build and maintain unquestioning relationships as you work across Fidelity to deliver business outcomes and seek out the expertise of colleagues to advise on your approach.

  • You are intellectually curious and model a culture of continuous learning, mentoring, and coaching.

  • You possess strong business/technical knowledge related to building products that display financial information to customers.
