Exciting, challenging opportunity for SQL Server Database Developer to work on-site of a rapidly growing, public, cloud based software company in Pleasanton. Our client is looking for a SQL Server Database Developer to to design, implement, maintain and support a key data conversion project. The candidate will be responsible for managing a transformation database that consists of tables and stored procedures that are used to transform legacy data into an importable format for our Workday Financials system. In addition to SQL database development skills, the candidate must have experience working with a Financial ERP system (preferably Workday), and have an understanding of revenue, billing and contracts.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Work Stored Procedures, Functions, Common Table Expressions (CTE) using T-SQL scripts to clean and process data for data loads and extracts which is used by downstream systems.

  • Perform Data Analysis and Visualization of complex data sets.

  • Design and maintain, Physical and Logical Data Models using SQL Management Studio.

  • Strong Microsoft Excel and XML skills with the ability to perform analysis across multiple tabs.

  • Define the source to target data mappings, business rules and data definitions.

  • Perform Unit and Functional Testing by writing T-SQL scripts and validating the data coming from various sources into XML/EIB formats for import into Workday Financials.

  • Able to work from both functional and technical designs to implement changes to existing applications and new applications.

  • Report the progress of data conversion in forms that can be understood by all levels of the organization.

Background/Xxperience Requirements:

  • At least 5 years in Microsoft SQL development including database creation/ setup, maintaining SPL scripts, importing / exporting data.

  • A strong Finance background with understanding of GL (General Ledger), Revenue, FP&A (Financial Planning & Analysis) and Billing

  • Proven track record of conversion accounting and batch management.

  • Financial ERP systems experience (Workday financials experience is preferred).

  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or equivalent.

Nice to Have:

  • Microsoft VB .Net experience a plus.
