Job Description

CACI is seeking a SQL Server Database Administrator on the CSS SATCOM Team Track Support Project in Chantilly, VA

What You'll Get to Do:

  • Installation and Configuration of SQL Server 2012 or higher databases

  • Managing SQL Server logins and Windows logins

  • Managing SQL Server permissions

  • Database Creation and Disk Space Allocation

  • Using Encryption/Certificates

  • Database Backup and Restore Scripts

  • Stored Procedures/User-Defined Functions/Triggers

  • Creating Linked Servers

  • SQL Server Integration Services (nice to have)

  • SQL Server Reporting Services (nice to have)

  • SQL Server Migration Assistant (nice to have)

  • Identify and resolve day-to-day database issues by gathering and applying information from a variety of materials or sources.

  • Perform system administration duties to include: back-ups, file transfers, disk management, add/delete users as required.

  • Support helpdesk ticket resolution.

  • Establish/maintain system documentation.

  • Evaluate database activity logs.

  • Attend meetings as required with staff, government, and vendor representatives.

  • Draft, edit and appropriately distribute written reports and status updates that are factual, timely and relatively error free.

You'll Bring These Qualifications:

  • 5+ years SQL Server 2012 or higher experience.

  • CompTIA Security + certification

  • Experience working in cloud-based environments.

  • Experience working in DoD environments.

  • Excellent technical and interpersonal skills.

  • DoD Secret Clearance is required. Minimum of interim Secret is required before any work is performed. Must be a US Citizen and be able to pass background check.

  • Familiarity with Oracle SQL Developer and PL/SQL desired

  • Familiar with MicroFocus / Serena Business Manager Process Apps / Workflows / Orchestrationshart desired

This division consists of a team of technical leaders that deliver advanced technical solutions to government organizations. The Sr. Database Administrator is a thought leader and expert responsible for design, coordination, and maintenance for all aspects of the delivery of database tools for a customer environment using ORACLE RDBMS tools. This individual will partner with the customer to influence ways to achieve mission priorities and provide leadership through innovation, critical thinking, collaboration and proactive risk management. They providing a full range of IT support services to customers proactively providing solutions and recommendation to improve customer experience and minimize negative user experiences with networks and systems they are in charge of or engage with. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: * Partners with customer to gather requirements through understanding of customer users' data/analytics needs and challenges * Provide solid documented DBA skills on Oracle RAC, ASM GRID and Data Guard installation, configuration, and troubleshooting production issues * Maintain and ensure availability for multiple production and development environments * Provide RMAN backup and recovery support and make recommendations regarding enhancements and/or improvements to the production databases * Maintain security and integrity controls and formulate policies, procedures, and standards relating to database management * Support the implementation of all required security updates as directed by applicable STIGs and DOS ISSO policies * Brings perspective on new data-related technologies that could affect customer suggests on appropriate changes and areas of future enhancement * Frequently leads planning, estimation and work break down activities on projects * Proactively identifies and communicates issues, risks, progress to customer and IT stakeholders, providing options and next steps * Troubleshoots and supports the entire product, across all layers of the data platform Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in systems engineering, computer science, management information systems, or related field * 10+ years of work experience in complex systems design, programming and systems software and support * Hands-on experience and support the upgrade and patching for the Oracle 11g/12c database and related software * 5+ years of experience as an Oracle DBA and related Oracle areas * 11g or 12c DBA experience with specific knowledge of RAC, ASM, GoldenGate, Data Guard, RMAN, Patching, AND/OR Security * Specific knowledge of writing custom monitoring reports for 12c OEM * Minimum of 4+ years delivering data solutions, including data warehousing, reporting and analytics * Strong data analysis, data modelling, BI/Reporting and visualization skills * Strong hands-on demonstrable skills with traditional RDBMS and some understanding large scale compute platforms, like MPP RDBS, Hadoop, HDFS, YARN/MapReduce, HIVE, Spark, etc * Strong hands-on demonstrable technical knowledge of ETL and ELT technologies and proven implementation track record with SQL tools, ETL tool, Cloudera Suite, HortonWorks, Alteryx, and R/Python * Technical knowledge with optimizing queries/code across large data sets Preferred qualifications: * Previous experience of resolving database system related POA&M finding is a plus * Hands on experience with Unix shell a plus * Experience with JSON/Bash/PYTHON/PowerShell scripts would provide great benefit for automation of tasks * Provide superior customer service; possess strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills in a dynamic customer centric environment * Highly motivated and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment * Displays a customer-centric attitude with a high level of energy and sense of urgency * Strong team and collaborative orientation * Excellent problem solving skills * CCNP Security or equivalent CISSP Certification requirements: Compliant with DoD 8570 IAT Level II with at least 14 months prior to renewal (e.g. Security+ or CCNA Security certification) or candidates who can be compliant within 6 months of starting their position.
