This position administers, manages, designs, documents, and evaluates a variety of database management systems; performs complex technical, analytical and professional services involving program/member services, evaluation, database-driven Web sites, office operations support, and problem resolution.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Perform data modeling and optimization, preliminary data received from customer designs, data analysis, and creation of new records and information updates as needed.
Perform installation and maintenance of contract data into primary and third party applications provide technical support to and training to members of the team.
Perform feasibility studies, cost/benefit analysis, and user training in response to user requests. Perform team leader functions for projects involving multiple parties: manage deadlines; provide status reports; facilitate final testing and project sign-off.
Responsible for backup of all local databases and file directories applications, in coordination with the IT Manager.
Ensure all maintenance jobs are preformed.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities
Perform and maintain daily backup, transaction log and full backups of data. Define, analyze, design, develop, test, and implement software applications with accuracy and timeliness.
Ensures development standards are followed. Ability to write reports in VB visual Studio and develop AD-HOC reports from a SQL environment.
Ensures application support documentation is provided and made available to the support team and user training is provided as necessary.
Ensure base level software applications are maintained as highest priority: assist in testing upgrades to existing applications; and assist the team in solving software failures.
Analyze user department needs and assist in eliminating redundancy and improve efficiency and effectiveness of operations.
Provide assistance to local and field sites.
Manage mail operations database applications
Assist with patches and version upgrades Flexible work schedule including weekends
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or designated individual. Participate in all other training required by funding sources and/or the Corporation such as Human Rights training.
Education, Experience, Certifications and Licensures
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience. Three years experience working with databases required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Strong understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and practices. Working technical experience with designing, building, installing, configuring and supporting database servers.
Hands-on database tuning and troubleshooting experience. Experience with data processing flow charting techniques.
Project management experience. Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear and respond to customers and employees. The employee frequently is required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to walk and sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
