Database Administrator deploys, configures and maintains SQL databases in a mission critical environment.
Works with a team supporting mission initiatives in a secure, isolated computing environment.
Works with peers, internal customers, and management to create a highly available and standardized IT infrastructure.
Install, maintain, monitor, and support multiple database servers on physical and virtual platforms in support of RTS initiatives.
Maintain a secure computing environment, including adherence to a backup schedule, patching of all systems, and applying applicable STIG settings.
Maintain CompTIA Security+ or similar certifications meeting DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, and within the wider RGNext business units.
While this position is an individual contributor, collaboration and strong technical knowledge and skills will be essential attributes.
Able to troubleshoot issues that arise as well as look for issues proactively.
Demonstrated ability to effectively implement databases and SQL servers along with proven record of documentation.
Proficient working knowledge of SQL servers and Windows operating systems for all currently supported versions.
Proficient working knowledge of TSQL database design and coding.
Demonstrated ability to effectively implement highly available database designs.
Ability to create scripts required to perform database and server management tasks per STIG requirements.
Proficiency with Oracle database and basic VMware vSphere desired.
Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
5 or more years of related Database Administrator experience.
Must be able to obtain CompTIA Security+ or similar certifications meeting DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II prior to employment start date.
Preferred: scripting languages experience (TSQL and PowerShell).
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid passport to support potential travel to Kwajalein Atoll.
The flexibility to work occasional non-duty hours or on weekends to support specific project or mission requirements.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance, which includes U.S. citizenship or U.S. naturalization.
Valid U.S. Driver's License required.
