iSphere is seeking a SQL Database Administrator opportunity for a 6+ month opportunity

Responsible for providing database administration, database security and production support. Installing, upgrading and maintaining databases.

Plans and executes database backup, archiving and recovery. Provides database tuning for performance and stability. Manages physical database design and implementation, database security implementation and monitoring.

Uses the companies change management processes to prevent production disruptions and outages. Partners with other company IT organizations to ensure quality support and delivery to the end-user. Participates in an on-call rotation with other DBA's to provide 24X7 coverage.

Typically requires 5-7 years of experience. Experienced level. Requires a strong understanding of discipline.

Able to apply knowledge and experience to complex problems and develop recommendations. Makes decisions within broad parameters. Acts as an informal resource for others with less experience.

Must have advanced SQL knowledge, Intermediate data management experience and advanced communication skills.

Installing, upgrading and maintaining databases.
Planning and executing of database backup and recovery.
Providing database diagnosis and tuning for performance and stability.
Managing physical database design and implementation, database security implementation and monitoring.
Using the companies change management processes to prevent production disruptions and outages.
Researching and recommending solutions that best meet business needs and Enterprise operational requirements.
Partnering with other IT teams to ensure quality support and delivery to the end-user
Develop T-SQL and Powershell scripts.
Maintain operations documents.

VIEW JOBS 11/11/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-09T00:00 Title Senior Database Administrator Location Houston, TX Job Summary Responsibilities include: * Write and maintain optimized stored procedures, functions, and SQL queries meant to assist the organization in accessing and analyzing business data. * Assist in design and modeling of scalable database solutions which adhere to business requirements. * Monitor and maintain database health and security. * Ability to resolve database performance issues such as deadlocks and blocking. * Recommend and perform regular database maintenance activities. * Must have knowledge of database partitioning strategies and have experience working with high volume databases. * Assist with ongoing maitenance and development of Operational Data Store and Datamarts. * Monitor and maintain existing SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) cubes and provide support for additional cube development efforts. * Design, build, and deploy effective ETL data integrations that adhere to enterprise standards * Develop SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) reports and provide support for existing reports based on customer requirements * Assist in identifying and resolving data quality issues and work with appropriate team to resolve them * Participate in user group meetings to understand business needs, priorities, and provide technical guidance when necessary * Resolve data issues in issue logs and reports; determine the root cause of issues * Define and maintain all technical documentation; including data definitions, data flow, lineage, systems of record, technical and operational metadata, etc. * Assist with the delivery of change communication, education and training materials * Work effectively with other staff to better understand corporate initiatives and policies, and deliver cohesive and consistent solutions to the entire organization Education/Experience Required * Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Math or Business Information Systems preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience * A minimum of 7 years of demonstrated experience and expertise in: database administration, standards and processes, data modeling, data mining, data warehousing, and data integration; preferably Informatica Powercenter * Previous work experience with various data types and data models (e.g. well header, well logs, production, drilling and completion, seismic, culture, Public Petroleum Data Model (PPDM), data exchange standards and file formats (LAS, IHS, etc.)) * Experience in petroleum industry applications such as Aries, OFM, Enertia, WellView, Tobin, TDM, GeoGraphix, etc. * Concho's annual review and application of the Fair Labor Standards Act has determined that this position is an exempt position * Must be able to work in the United States indefinitely Skills/Attributes Desired * Ability to work transparently with minimal supervision; strong teamwork and communications interpersonal skills * Strong analytical and technical skills, written and verbal communication skills * Ability to quickly develop expertise of the functions and capabilities of new technologies and standards * Experience with Informatica Powercenter preferred; will consider experience with Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) * Experience with BI visualization tools such as Spotfire or Tableau * Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop is a plus * Proficiency with writing SQL and T-SQL * Familiarity with data management & programming essential and work exposure in the field of E&P * Ability to work as a team player with willingness to handle assigned tasks, whether simple or complex * Ability to work in a fast paced organization and multi-task COG Operating LLC ("Concho") uses e-Verify to confirm eligibility to work in the United States.
