POSITION DESCRIPTION

TITLE: Project KEYS Site Manager

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School diploma or equivalent, and 18 years of age

• At least 3 years' experience in childcare environment, and strong understanding of child development

• Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification

• Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills (including Microsoft Excel)

• High energy and the ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment.

• Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills

• Must clear full background check with Los Lunas Schools and ECECD

OVERVIEW OF JOB DESCRIPTION: The Site Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day operational activities of the program. They must understand children's cognitive, social, emotional and physical development to ensure a safe and stimulating program environment where children are actively engaged and encouraged to succeed. The Site Manager must be skilled in communicating with both children and adults in order to meet the needs of the children, effectively guide caregivers, and resolve parental concerns.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead by example; encourage team success through modeling and coaching.

• Plan individual and group age-appropriate activities to actively engage children and encourage social, cognitive and emotional growth.

• Maintain frequent communications with parents through both formal and informal discussions and written communication.

• Ensure all program policies and state regulations are met.

• Ensure a healthy program environment - including maintaining appropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards and safety and security of children.

• Ensure they are following planned activities, hygiene and safety standards.

• Maintain accurate records, forms and files with assistance of Director

• Maintain confidentiality of information.

• Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement with assistance of Director.

• Stay updated with training requirements.

• Perform other relevant tasks as assigned.

REPORTS TO: Day Care Administator/Director

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Work year to be in accordance with current student calendar. Site Manager will be paid on a time card/hourly basis.

EVALUATION: Performance of this position will be evaluated annually.

PHYSICAL LEVEL RATING: This position will require the employee to function at a "medium" physical capacity as defined by Workman's Compensation statutes. "Medium" physical capacity indicates the ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally or up to 25 pounds frequently.

OTHER PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Requirements include the ability to take frequent walks, use hands and fingers, handle objects, tools or controls, talk to and hear voices at many levels. May also be required to kneel, bend, squat or crawl, sit on the floor.
