What you will do

  • Service and troubleshoot wet/dry/ pre-action systems, fire pumps-based fire sprinkler systems, and backflows, including repair and internal inspections.

  • Follow verbal and written instructions, read and understand complex construction blueprints, diagrams, and specifications used in installation activities.

  • Carry/move equipment and tools weighing up to 40 pounds. Perform work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 40 feet or more.

  • Maintain a clean and safe work area. Pick up and properly dispose of all trash associated with SimplexGrinnell work. Wear appropriate safety equipment as required including bump cap and safety toed boots.

  • Properly secure all SimplexGrinnell tools and equipment at the end of each work period so as to prevent damage or loss.

  • Have computer skills - Word, Excel, Outlook.

  • Complete and submit time reports and other documents as required.

  • Bring to the immediate attention of the dispatcher/supervisor of all changes, discrepancies and coordination problems that impair activities or schedules.

  • Working alternate shifts or weekends to meet customer service on call requirements is required.

  • Perform other duties as directed.

What we look for

Required

  • 3-5 years of experience in the industry.

  • Working knowledge of wet, dry and pre-action sprinkler systems, and fire pump systems a must.

  • Must have a clean driving record.

  • Follow verbal and written instructions

  • High School Diploma, or equivalent

Preferred

  • NICET
  • Sprinkler and Backflow license a plus or must be obtained.

Typically works on more complex issues. May perform some programming. Duties And Responsibilities * Services, troubleshoots and repairs low voltage panels, wiring and devices. * Provides reliable, high quality customer support. * Provides customer instruction on system operation and functionality. * Performs system testing and signal verification. * Maintains the necessary truck stock/inventory (equipment and tools). * Organizes and utilizes technical resources, information, material, and support to ensure efficient execution of assigned tasks. * Ensures the progress and completion of assigned tasks. * Provides documentation of service and hours worked. * Completes and submits all required task-related activities, productivity, and other documentation in a timely manner. * Must have a strong work ethic. * Must be detail-oriented. * Must complete other projects, as assigned. Minimum Qualifications (Education, Skills & Experience): * Minimum of High School Diploma/Vocational Training. * Must have three (3) or more years of experience. * Must have a mastery knowledge of trouble shooting commercial intrusion systems, fire systems, CCTV, intercom access control systems. * Must have a working knowledge to full understanding of local/national codes. * Must be able to read plans, use a variety of tools and install panels, boxes and wiring accordingly. * Requires knowledge of OSHA, HAZCOM Regulations and comprehension of national electronic code, state and local construction codes. * Must have a valid driver's license and be able to clear a pre-employment criminal background check and drug screening. Certification/Licensing: * Must retain NICET Level I Certification (for fire alarm systems only). * Must obtain NICET Level II within one (1) year (for fire alarm systems only). * Must obtain and retain any specific product certifications and/or licenses that are required by national, state and local codes. * Requires 50 % to 75 % proficiency in ADT Commercial's Enterprise product offerings.
