Sports Complex Field Maintenance - Days

Function

The City of Ankeny has a need for individuals who are interested in helping maintain the

124-acre sports complex fields and grounds.

Athletic Field Maintenance (9 months) - $18.00/hour; No benefits.

Hours: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday

Position will begin immediately and ends November 30, 2024. Pre-employment drug screen and background check required.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Field Maintenance: Aeration, fertilization, sodding, seeding, construction and irrigation repair. Painting and chalking fields.

• Mowing soccer, baseball, softball, and football fields.

• Setting up fields for tournaments.

• Working softball and baseball tournaments.

• Event clean-up, changing garbage cans, and cleaning bathrooms.

Entry Requirements and Skills

• Possess and maintain a valid Iowa driver's license.

• Pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Candidates must be able to work outside in extreme weather condition.

This position is not eligible for health benefits but may be eligible for IPERS. IPERS eligibility and participation will begin once an employee earns $1,000 or more in two consecutive quarters and will continue for the duration of employment.
