Position Information

Assist with daily media relations and communications duties related to UGA's 21-sport varsity athletic program. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign is beneficial.

Basic sports writing skills and social media capability also required. Assist with Game Day operations. Having a flexible schedule and working nights and weekends are required. Assist with office/clerical operations of the Sports Communications department which includes answering phone calls, scanning documents, special projects and other duties as assigned.

The physical demands and environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee should be willing to: stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, feel, and reach with hands and arms.

The employee should be willing to occasionally sit and talk. The employee should be willing to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision, and peripheral vision. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but escalates to high during athletic competitions.
