Sports Administration Full-time Tenure-track Faculty

The Department of Government and Politics at Wagner College invites applications for a full-time tenure-track faculty appointment in Sports Administration, beginning Fall 2024.

The ideal candidate will hold a doctorate in Sports Management/Administration or a doctorate or other terminal degree in a related field, and be passionate about teaching and research.

The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to teach SA 102: Financial Decision Making for Non-Profits, as well as a wide variety of sport management/administration courses (e.g., sports marketing, sports finance, e-sports, etc.), design curriculum, assist with the establishment of internship opportunities for undergraduate students, provide strong academic advisement, and supervise internships. In addition to a successful teaching record at the undergraduate level, we seek candidates with an original research agenda that complements and enhances their teaching.

Essential Functions:

  • Teach 3 courses per semester (Fall and Spring)

  • Collaborate in developing curriculum and establishing new course offerings

  • Advise and mentor students pursuing the undergraduate degree in sports administration Participate in departmental functions and college-wide services

  • Pursue scholarly activities

  • Teach in the College's First Year Program

Qualifications:

  • Earned doctorate in Sports Management/Administration or doctorate or terminal degree in a related field. ABD considered.

  • Potential for excellence in teaching at the college level

  • Evidence of research activity and scholarship

  • Commitment and sensitivity to issues of diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility

Additional Information

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $60,000 - $65,000. Wagner College considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
