Job Summary:
The College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) supports the grant-related activities of faculty in the arts and humanities, social sciences, and sciences. This position is part of a team that provides support for the grant-related activities of CAS faculty. The main duties will include 1) prepare, review, and submit grant proposals to federal, state, and private agencies for external funding and 2) assist with special projects.

Education & Experience
Position Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
HS degree/GED and four years of experience in sponsored programs administration or another closely related field; or a Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Management, Research Administration, English/Technical Writing, or related fields.
Additional sponsored programs administration experience is necessary for maximum pay (see preferred qualifications). Knowledge obtained by a combination of specialized training and experience is desired. Demonstrated proficiency in time management, task prioritization, problem solving, and effective communication (written and oral). Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
Excellent organizational and record keeping skills with attention to detail. Proficient with MS Excel, Outlook, Word, and Adobe Acrobat. Demonstrated interest/ability to learn new programs and processes.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and ten years of experience in sponsored programs administration or Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Management, Research Administration, English/Technical Writing, or related fields and six or more years of experience in sponsored programs administration.
Membership and active participation in professional organizations such as the National Council of University Research Administrators (NCURA), Society of Research Administrators International (SRA), or National Organization of Research Development Professionals (NORDP).
Professional certification in grants, contracts, or research administration (i.e., Certified Research Administrator (CRA), Certified Pre-Award Research Administrator (CPRA), Certified Financial Research Administrator (CFRA)
Demonstrated ability/desire to proactively collaborate professionally. Demonstrated knowledge of proposal submission, budget development, technical reporting, project management and cost principals, sponsored programs regulations (Uniform Guidance, Federal Acquisitions Regulations), etc. Proficient with electronic grants management systems (grants.gov, NIH eRA Commons, NSF Fastlane, Proposal Central, etc.) and experience with enterprise research administration systems.
Experience with Ellucian Banner Finance.
