The Life Enrichment Team at Benedictine Living Community - Garrison is looking for an outgoing Mission driven individual that is interested in the holistic care needs of our Elders.

The Spiritual Enhancement/Life Enrichment position, is a dual position responsible for the Spiritual wellbeing of our Elders as well as the daily Life enrichment. This position involves planning, directing, and managing the basic needs of Spiritual Enhancement for our Elders. Works as part of Life Enrichment and maintains a close alliance with activity directors, for coordinating functions to work as a team. Meets daily to coordinate functions of the day, to assure quality of life for our Neighbors. This position reports to the Life Enrichment Director.

Past clinical pastoral skills in a healthcare setting are highly desired.


The Spiritual Care Coordinator is responsible for providing a compassionate, non-judgmental presence that will invite openness, sharing, and the opportunity for a spirit of healing.


Shows attention to those who are facing the end of life and provides bereavement resources to both residents and families. Assists with the education and orientation of staff and volunteers on the importance of spiritual care in health and healing. Coordinates the spiritual care activities at the community and supports the spiritual beliefs/practices of the residents and staff.


Qualifications Required

  • One (1) to three (3) years of active ministry in church or healthcare setting.

  • Understanding of the mission and ministry of the churches as espoused in the healing ministry of Christ.

Qualifications Preferred

  • Bachelor of Arts degree.

  • One (1) to four (4) units of clinical pastoral education (CPE).

  • Solid presence within the community and one's own church.

Responsibilities Works under the supervision of Administration, and in conjunction with CHI St. Alexius Bismarck and CHI Midwest Division leadership. The Director is responsible for total delivery of patient care and all nursing staff development. Directs implementation and ensures compliance with regulation and standards of ND State Nurse Practice Act. Develops policies & procedures to serve as guidelines that promote health care delivery in accordance with the Mission and Philosophy of the Facility. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Ensure compliance with licensure, credentials and CPR certification. * Select qualified nursing service personnel and ensure adequate orientation. * Assess quality of care rendered by nursing staff and coordinate facility Quality Improvement Program. * Enforce employee health requirements & Infection Control practice. * Review incident reports and employee injuries. Investigate and direct appropriately. * Respond to emergencies and function as a staff nurse. * Delegate responsibilities within legal guidelines based on capabilities of co-workers. * In the absence of the Administrator, assume administrative authority for all areas affecting patient care. * Assure development of programs, policies, and procedures that respond to the changing times in healthcare. * Acknowledge problem situations and initiate action to resolve. * Terminate employees who do not provide care consistent with GMH values and policies. * Perform evaluations, administer discipline and counseling. Qualifications Education: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. Masters degree preferred. Licensure: Current license as a registered nurse in North Dakota. Experience: Supervisory experience preferred. Skills: CPR certification. Manual dexterity and mobility. Competent in use of equipment used in patient care, and well as office computer programs. Interpersonal Skills: View work as a team effort. Must have positive and effective communication skills in dealing with internal and external customers. Physical Effort: Physical Demand is medium.
