A Day in the Life:

Responsible for the selling and integration of Medtronic Spine technologies into spine surgery. In addition, responsible for driving deep account penetration and new user adoption of Medtronic spine procedures at key strategic and growth opportunity accounts.

Through job related synergies in technical expertise and end user training, this individual will drive the adoption of Medtronic Spine technologies at growth opportunity accounts through their clinical and sales aptitude. This individual will also represent the company in accordance with its policies, maintaining an awareness of market and competitive conditions for strategic planning while reporting directly to the Spinal Strategic Sales Manager for their respective geography.

  • Drive the day to day activities of Strategic Sales and GOAL Initiatives:

  • Clearly defined objectives and required activities

  • Sales and performance accountability for the account focused activities and strategies

  • Strong collaboration with the Spinal Sales region, districts, territories and specialty teams

  • Create account sales growth plans to meet and exceed company AOP and ensure proper execution.

  • Drive conversion of surgeons to Medtronic Spine procedures.

  • Focus on new revenue generation at key strategic and growth opportunity accounts through execution of Sales, Marketing and Medical Education resources.

Must Have:

  • Bachelor's Degree and 1 year medical device sales experience.

Nice to Have:

  • Spine surgical related sales experience preferred.

JOB MISSION: The Account Specialist has the responsibility to maximize sales and profitability by optimizing order fulfilment in compliance with our vendor guidelines. This role will ensure the best experience for our wholesale customers and account managers by making sound business recommendations, focusing on continuous improvement and setting new standards in sales and customer operations. The Account Specialist will also be a key contributor to evolve the sales and order fulfilment process. MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES: * Analyze data collected through SCOT, saleforce.com, ERP and other inputs to build strategies that continually optimize and refine the customer experience and operations. * Deliver insights to all internal stakeholders including but not limited to the value chain and sales management * Proactively engage with our customers on operational improvements * Optimize KPI' and business process for specified account base or sales channel. * Ensure effective management of the order book and customer experience. * Deliver year over year performance improvements. * Influence account base to adopt supply chain initiatives that increase operational efficiency and cost reduction opportunities. * Convey deep understanding of best practices, systems, and enabling technology. REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS * Four-year college degree or equivalent experience necessary and a minimum of 2 years related experience * Must be familiar with supply chain management, order fulfillment, as well as domestic and import logistics. * Strong strategic thinking and outstanding analytical/quantitative skills. * Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills with an emphasis on problem solving, conflicting objectives, and dealing with multiple customers. * Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and manage time, multiple tasks, and deadlines effectively. * Must have solid communication and presentation skills * Travel to customers, industry conferences and to sales meetings. * Must be knowledgeable of the following: * ERP/Manhattan WMS * EDI * Data Warehouse systems such as Diver * Salesforce.com and Tibco Spotfire * XPC Our Benefits: Our products are only as good as the people we hire, so we make sure to hire the best and treat them accordingly.
