The purpose of Speech/Language Pathologist is done for the purpose/s of improving students' communication and success in the academics, interpersonal skills and communication of daily living activities, implementing district approved curriculum; documenting teaching and student progress/activities, outcomes; addressing students' specific needs; providing a safe and optimal learning environment; and providing feedback to students, parents and administration regarding student progress, expectations, goals, etc. Please see job description for a list of job functions and minimum qualifications.

EXPERIENCE: Evidence of successful supervised experience working with communicatively handicapped elementary school age children preferred.

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in Communicative Disorders or equivalent from an accredited college/university is required; master's degree desirable. CERTIFICATES/CREDENTIALS/LICENSES: • Possession of or ability to obtain a valid California Credential/Waiver authorizing Speech Therapy License for public schools • Applicants who are applying for a valid credential or have not utilized their credentials within the last 39 months of employment in a school district must show verification of meeting the Basic Skills Requirement Test *Waiver candidates must show evidence of program enrollment leading to credential authorizing Speech Therapy for public schools.

  • Credential Copy (A valid California Credential/Waiver authorizing Speech Therapy License for public schools - Waiver candidates must show evidence of program enrollment leading to credential authorizing Speech Therapy for public schools)

  • Letter(s) of Recommendation (Two (2) Letters of Recommendation are required and must be signed by the author. The signature block must include the author's name and title/relationship to the applicant. Letters must be dated within the last 2 years prior to the position closing date. Letters without author's signature, name and title/relationship to the applicant and letters without a date or dated more than 2 years prior to the position closing date will not be accepted. One letter from a supervisor is preferred.)
