Summary of Position:#Evaluates patient treatment needs, plans treatment programs, and performs and/or supervises treatment.# # Primary Job Responsibilities:# Selects, administers and interprets appropriate evaluations.# Develops a treatment plan by selecting age appropriate treatment techniques, prioritizing problem areas and establishing goals.# Performs treatments according to the established plan, utilizing appropriate procedures, treatment equipment, assistive devices, orthoses, and techniques within the scope of practice and according to the policies and procedures of the Regional Therapy Center. Establishes and maintains an appropriate therapeutic rapport with patients.# Educates the patient/resident and/or caregivers about established goals and methods of treatment.

Collaborates with other members of the interdisciplinary care team to coordinate therapeutic programs and discharge. Prepares written reports and daily charges according to established RTC guidelines and to facilitate payment for services. Actively directs and provides oversight of therapy assistants and assigned students by maintaining responsibility for the plan of care and ensuring that policies, procedures and applicable laws are followed and that quality patient care is provided.

Participates in the quality assurance and continuous quality improvement program as assigned. Assists patient through-put by maintaining clinic appearance and readiness, assisting others, ensuring availability of clinical supplies and forms and demonstrating a personal routine for job performance which facilitates increased productivity, as evidenced by three units billed per hour worked.


Minimum Qualifications:


#Bachelor or master#s degree or doctorate in Occupational Therapy or Physical Therapy, or a master#s degree in Speech-language Pathology.

Hospital-based experience strongly preferred.#NYS SLP license and dysphagia experience required. Certifications / Licensure:#Licensed (or eligible) to practice in New York State as an Audiologist, Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapist, or Speech-language Pathologist.# Certificate in Clinical Competency (CCC-SP or CCC-A) or eligible from American Speech-Language and Hearing Association required for speech-language pathologists.


Salary Range:


$31 - $48.66 Pay Grade: RT1 Compensation may vary based upon, but not limited to: overall experience and qualifications, shift, and location.
