Overview
The Speech Therapist assumes primary responsibility for evaluation of the patient, planning, implementing, supervising, reevaluating and changing the treatment program. The therapist maintains adequate records and documents the appropriate progress reports and patient education. The therapist supervises support staff and students as assigned.
Qualifications
Education: Master's degree from an accredited institution in the area of Speech Therapy/Communication Disorders, ASHA Certification of Clinical Competence in Speech Pathology or eligible to begin CFY with successful completion of nation exam, Alabama license in Speech Pathology or applicant with licensure pending CFY completion required, current BCLS required upon completion of provisional period of employment.
Experience: Prefer pediatric experience with speech/language/swallowing/voice disorders and training/experience for participation in modified barium swallow studies and feeding evaluations.
Additional Skills/Abilities: Must be comfortable working with children with a variety of impairments. Must be able to work as part of an interdisciplinary team with focus on family involvement.
