Evaluates and provides treatment for expressive language skills appropriately.

Evaluates and provides treatment for receptive language skills appropriately.

Evaluates and provides treatment for literary communication appropriately.

Evaluates and provides treatment for cognition language skills appropriately.

Evaluates and provides treatment for augmentative communication appropriately.

Evaluates and provides treatment for articulation skills appropriately.

Evaluates and provides treatment for audiological screening appropriately.

Evaluates and provides treatment for fluency skills appropriately.

Evaluates and provides treatment for dysarthria appropriately.

Evaluates and provides treatment for apraxia appropriately.

Evaluates and provides treatment for voice appropriately.

Evaluates and provides treatment for dysphagia appropriately.

Provides patient family education/provides patient information for team.

Writes realistic and measurable short and long term goals with patient and/or family input.

Provides inservices to department and other personnel.

Attends and contributes to department committee and team meetings within the hospital.

Adheres to the code of ethics of ASHA and SCSHA.

Maintains good working relationships with other departments and within the community.

Follows Department Policies and procedures.

Maintain current knowledge in the field of speech-language pathology.

Attends professional meetings and conferences to advance level of knowledge.

Performs evidenced based care. Seeks out research to support interventions.

Attends mandatory meetings as required by the hospital.

Willingly participates in doing other duties although not directly assigned. Seeks out work that needs to be done.

Is accountable for cost-effective quality patient care and assists other personnel in containing costs.

Recognizes problems and recommends solutions for positive changes in operations.

Demonstrates an ability to adapt to changes in operations, management styles and position routines.

Assumes personal responsibilities for professional development and continuing education. Willingly participates in continuing education programs when requested.

Respects, at all times, the confidentiality of patient's records and facility operations. Uses complete discretion when discussing patient matters.

Demonstrates a complete knowledge of the staffing hierarchical structure and chain of command; follows proper lines of communication.

Demonstrates a time-conscious awareness and strives to use time effectively.

Arranges time schedule in accordance with the needs of the hospital.

Is prompt in completing assigned activities.

Accepts assignments for other projects when necessary.

Is willing to adjust personal schedule to complete workload or special assignments when requested.

Provides proper notification and advance notice for absence. Never abuses or takes advantage of sick time or personal time; maintains personal health; rarely is absent from work due to health problems.

Licenses/Certifications/Registrations/Education:

Master's degree in speech pathology

Current South Carolina license as a speech language pathologist

Current CPR certification
