About BHA
Kansas City Behavioral Health Holdco is located in the Greater Kansas City, MO area. BHA is a comprehensive behavior analytic who provides services to a variety of disabilities varying from 18 months through adulthood. Our services address the needs of families, schools and agencies by conducting assessments, developing and providing intervention and providing training by incorporating the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and Positive Behavioral Intervention & Supports.
Position Purpose
This position is primarily responsible for delivering speech and language instruction to students at Milestones Academy in their respective school.

Requirements
Education and Experience
Master's degree from a nationally accredited Speech Language Pathology program
Current and active license in the state of practice and a current Certification of Clinical Competencies (CCC) unless completing CFY
Minimum of one year experience as a practicing pediatric therapist is preferred
Background or certification in Augmentative Communication (AAC), Autism Spectrum Disorders, or developmental feeding is beneficial
Professional Skills/Key Accountabilities (Other duties and projects will be assigned, as necessary.)
1.Provide individualized screening, assessments and evaluations through the use of functional, behavioral and standardized assessments, skilled observation, checklists, medical and educational histories and interviews.
2.Provide evidence-based group or individual treatment activities as directed in the student's IEP and by the supervising Speech Language-Pathologist to enhance child's educational performance; increase communication in the areas of language, speech, voice and fluency, increase executive function and reasoning skills and areas of social skill development.
3.Adapt/modify individual's environment and teaching materials, and provide recommendations for assistive technology as indicated to attain therapeutic goals.
4.Daily treatment notes and client billing logs while continually monitoring/assessing the efficacy of therapeutic intervention.
5.Complete documentation including: intervention planning, evaluation reports, present level of function summaries, IEP/IFSP development, teaching procedures, data collection and related administrative tasks.
6.Research curriculum development and activity planning.
7.Gathering materials for treatment, as well as discharge/transition planning.
8.Utilizing existing data and ongoing professional evaluation to determine continued need for direct intervention, modifications or discontinuation of treatment.
9.Collaborate with other disciplines and family members to develop individual IEP/IFSPs.
Collaborate with the educational team to monitor, adapt or modify treatment plans, teaching programs, behavioral intervention and therapeutic activities as needed to achieve targeted outcomes.
Educate staff on the implementation of therapeutic interventions and teaching procedures.
Work collaboratively with culturally and educationally diverse staff and families by effectively communicate with colleagues, students, and parents regarding the accomplishments of therapy goals and the need of the students.
Develop self professionally through inter-disciplinary collaborations, continuing education courses, professional workshops, professional meetings and independent research related to the speech-language-hearing profession.
Provide direction and supervision of Speech Language Pathologist CFY/students in the provision of speech therapy services under the rules and regulations of the appropriate State Practice Acts and any other State or Federal guidelines in addition to policies and procedures of Milestones Academy.
Submits and maintains a schedule for speech-language services and informs appropriate personnel of departures from schedule in a timely manner.
