Central Therapy is currently recruiting a Speech Language Pathologist for a 13 weeks full time assignment in a skilled nursing/rehabilitation setting. Put your therapy skills to work where they're really needed - evaluate a resident's condition, develop a treatment plan, and help them get better, day by day. VIEW JOBS 12/21/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-03-21T00:00 The Speech Language Pathologist is primarily responsible for providing Speech-Language Pathology services, especially for people with complex communication needs as part of relevant AT programs and projects. In addition, this incumbent will support the activities of PIAT and other Assistive Technology programs and projects. Activities include corresponding with others, providing direct service, investigating solutions, documenting activities, managing cases, drafting reports and policies, developing procedures/protocols and analyzing activities/outcomes. Performs other duties as assigned. This is a part time 20 hrs per week position. Required Education & Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Speech Language Pathology and at least 1 year of directly related experience. Master's degree preferred. Certificate of Clinical Competence/Clinical Fellowship Year SLP considered. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Required Skills & Abilities: * Demonstrated excellent organizational skills and ability to handle multiple functions and prioritize in a fast pace environment; * Strong communication skills (both written and oral) and technology skills (Web and Internet abilities) * Ability to work independently and in groups; * Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with people of all constituent groups; * Proficiency with Microsoft office * Ability to nderstand with detail the assigned service delivery systems – early intervention * Working knowledge of the current needs and particularities of the assigned population of assistive technology users - Communication Impairment * Understanding of assistive technologies with a detailed understanding of – AAC, switches Preferred: * Experience working with people with disabilities * Experience with or interest in Augmentative and Alternative Communication This position requires a background check.
