The Speech-Language Pathology Clinical Fellowship (SLPCF) position shall be responsible for the evaluation and

treatment of patients referred for Speech Therapy Services in accordance with the principles and practices of the

profession of Speech-Language Pathology in accordance with the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association

(ASHA) recommendations for a Clinical Fellowship. This term is a mentored professional experience and consists of

no less than 36 weeks of full-time clinical practice resulting in a minimum of 1,260 hours of experience. The CF

experience must be comprised of direct patient contact,consultations, record keeping, and duties relevant to clinical

work. S/he will participate in educational programs as


  • Masters Degree in Speech Language Pathology required.

  • Current provisional licensure in the state of Florida as a

Speech Language Pathologist

  • Current certification as a BLS Healthcare Provider required

(American Heart Association)

  • Previous experience in an acute care hospital setting


  • Requires strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.

In addition, the position: * Requires effective communication skills for working with patients, families, and caregivers. * Requires effective communication skills for departmental and interdepartmental relationships. * Requires competency in speech-language pathology evaluation, assessment, care planning and treatment. * Requires task delegation and supervision of fellows, technicians and assistants (when applicable). * Maintains open and on-going communication with hospital departments to ensure patient, staff, and hospital needs are met. The Speech-Language Pathologist creates an environment and culture that enables the hospital to fulfill its mission by providing patient safety and patient-centered treatment. Job Code: 100031 License or Certification: * Must be in possession of current state license or certification on or before the first day of employment. * CPR certification preferred unless otherwise required by hospital policy. Education, Training and Experience * Successful completion of an accredited Master's Degree Program or accredited Bachelor's Degree Program plus sufficient experience in the field.
