Sped Substitute Teacher

Beacon Day School is a quickly growing private school that is committed to serving its students in the most effective means possible. One of our highest priorities is to support our teachers in all facets of their job. For instance, while in other settings teachers lack aide support, here at Beacon Day School we maintain a high student to staff ratio of 3:1.

Consequently for 21 students we have 17 aides once you factor in 1:1 aides. In addition we have a Behavior Specialist to supervise behavioral interactions, two certificated teachers, and two PhD's on staff. Teachers are part of the administrative team and participate in related meetings.

You will be able to contribute to policies and procedures and the decision making process. As we place a high degree of importance in encouraging parents to participate in our students' academic progress, we maintain close communications with caregivers through regular case conferences, pogress reports and daily logs. A critical aspect of this position will be to complete IEP's and report to the IEP team.
