LabCorp is currently seeking a Specimen Processing Specialist for a client facility Indianapolis, IN. This is a full time benefited position working on the Day Shift. Prefer at least 2 years of processing experience with Hospital processing experience preferred. Good data entry skills where accuracy is key and a desire to provide excellent customer service to our clients will be needed. Knowledge of specimen types and proper use of a centrifuge will be needed.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing

  • Spin samples, pour urine tubes, and create frozen samples

  • Pick up and deliver samples to clients/hospitals

  • Unpack and route specimen to their respective staging areas

  • Accurately identify and label specimens

  • Pack and ship specimen to proper testing facilities

  • Properly prepare and store excess specimen samples

  • Process all necessary paperwork to process and submit specimen

  • Data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner

  • Perform audits in order to resolve any outstanding issues

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • 1 year of medical/clinical laboratory experience is preferred

  • Comfortable handling biological specimens

  • Ability to accurately identify specimens

  • Experience working in a team environment

  • Strong data entry and organizational skills

  • High level of attention to detail

  • Proficient in MS Office

  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs

  • Able to pass a standardized color blind test

VIEW JOBS 4/7/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-07-06T00:00 Position Summary Starting Salary: $32,000 90 days Increase: $34,500 15 month Increase: $36,500 Position is responsible for processing all referrals and releases to Community Corrections Electronic Monitoring from Marion Superior Courts, Indiana Department of Corrections, Probation or other Community Correction Agencies. Performs all tasks associated with case processing, including but not limited to calculating credit time, printing and signing documents, obtaining legal documents, completing risk assessments, completing financial worksheets, determining fees owed and entering data. Position Responsibilities Takes pictures of all clients going through processing and will be placed on electronic monitoring Review/Research Court Orders to assure referral or release with Community Corrections electronic monitoring is accurate Complete risk assessment according to Community Corrections policy. Assign each client to Case Manager and schedule an initial appointment; provide each client a written reminder of this initial appointment. Complete data entry in case management systems. Review with each client the rules of placement with Community Corrections. Complete required reports and documents. Conduct interviews with clients; answer basic questions Calculate credit time and projected release dates for each client. Complete financial worksheet and determine daily user fee. Obtain/verify additional client information with outside agencies when necessary. Enter victim/alleged victim information into case management system and check client address against victim/alleged victim address to verify proper distance. Provide electronic monitoring vendor with exclusion zone addresses as received from the Victim Advocate. Send all appropriate information to electronic monitoring vendor to ensure proper component equipment installation. Coordinate release dates of clients. Organize files per policy. Qualifications High School education and/or GED and a minimum of two (2) years' prior work related experience is required. Must pass State IRAS certification exam within six (6) months of employment. Good oral and written communication skills. Effective in treatment of customers whether face to face and/or telephonically in a professional and courteous manner. Knowledge of various computer based skills including Microsoft Office, e-mail and database experience. Valid driver's license. Independent Judgment Position requires the knowledge of established policies and procedures, which controls most of the incumbent(s) actions. Very limited independent judgment is utilized.
